A 29-year-old suspect has been killed in a shootout with KZN police in Msinga. According to the SAPS, "members of the Tactical Response Team (TRT) acted on intelligence regarding a suspect allegedly in possession of an unlicensed firearm. Upon arrival at the identified premises, officers tactically approached the house. During the operation, the suspect allegedly opened fire on the police. My family and I had the worst and traumatising experience with @AVBOBSA in Makhanda as we were preparing burial of my mother. They repatriated the body from JHB to Makhanda. Firstly they picked up the body 4 days later, after all the paperwork and assurance that all is in order. Body got to Makhanda on Wednesday afternoon, the same afternoon they told me that, my father’s claim has been declined and that I had to pay about R54 000 for burial and repatriation. Bare in mind, funeral was 2 days away. I fought and fought, I finally decided that, let me rather move her to another undertaker. They told me, the body can’t not be transfer I had to pay R24 000 for reparation. I refuse to pay R24 000, because of time, on Friday 16th I had to pay R16 000 to get my mother’s body. This was thee most traumatic and heartbreaking experience ever and I don’t wish it to anyone

Security tightened for Mkhwanazi after receiving threats National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Fannie Masemola, has confirmed that additional security measures have been put in place for Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi following threats made against him.
