Human biosolid (manure) are loaded with literally tons of toxic chemicals that can impact crop productivity, but folk will consume those chemicals. Those chemicals include pharmaceuticals (like prozac, metformin, birth control pills), sunscreens (e.g., oxybenzone), parabens, etc.

So, this was my day today… Today the House advanced HB3660, a bill to legalize the use of composted human bodies as fertilizer. If this bill is put into law, Oklahoma joins 14 BLUE states that have legalized this process. So, instead of outlawing this type of practice outright, we’re on track to take the use of humanure as fertilizer another disgusting step forward. 🤢

I know a group of lawyers who are going after academic fraudsters, including intellectual theft. When it gets to a point, contact me and can make introductions. I've had grant proposals stolen that were "cut and pasted" into grant proposals and manuscripts that I was asked to be reviewer on couple of years later. Now there is legal recourse, especially if it was submitted to a federal RFP. Keep doing what you are doing. Academia is nothing but a lobster trap filled with lobsters, dragging each other back into the trap.

Something no one is talking about. Big Chemical and Big Ag know Kansas MAHA moms are not going to stand for their chemical liability shield this week. So they decided to hijack a bill on food dyes (KS SB 390) and hope no one knows they snuck it on there today! The House Agriculture Committee amended it to include HB 2476, which of course is the pesticide immunity bill. These GHOULS. Call your KS Senator and tell them to stay strong!! Demand they separate 390 from HB 2476 or kill SB 390 altogether. This is Kansas’s last chance or what we did to vaccines will be done to over 57,000 chemical products. If you get sick, infertile, or diagnosed with cancer you will have NO RECOURSE IN KANSAS.

Had a parent-teacher conference this morning My wife told me not to come I came anyway She said "please just listen and nod" I said "I always listen" She said "you listen like you're sitting in a boardroom looking for something to challenge" That's how listening works Nice classroom Small chairs I am 6'4" and was seated at a desk designed for someone who still believes in Santa Claus My knees touched my chest The teacher introduced herself Shared her identified pronouns I shared my identified adjectives Smart and handsome My wife closed her eyes The teacher had a folder Color-coded tabs I respected the organization She said our son is "a pleasure to have in class" My wife smiled I waited That sentence is never the whole report It's the executive summary before the risk section She said "however" There it is She said he "asks a lot of questions" I said "good" She said "during quiet time" I said "when is quiet time?" She said "it's when students are expected to work independently and in silence" I said "so he's the only one trying to get information and you've structured the environment to prevent it?" My wife put her hand on my arm I continued The teacher said he recently told another student that "sharing pencils doesn't make sense if nobody brings their own" I said "that's an accurate observation" My wife squeezed harder The teacher said she's concerned about his "resistance to group activities" I said "he's not resistant. He just doesn't see the value of doing more work for the same grade." The teacher said he also corrected her math on the whiteboard I said "was he right?" She paused She said "that's not the point" I said "it's a little bit the point" My wife stood up Sat back down Compromise The teacher pulled out an evaluation sheet Categories like "works well with others" and "follows directions" and "respects classroom norms" All subjective Not a number on the page I asked how these are graded She said "based on observation" I said "so one person's opinion with no second review?" She said "it's professional judgment" I said "my auditors say that too. Right before I disagree with them." She looked at my wife My wife said "I'm sorry about him" I said "I'm sitting right here" My wife said "I know" The teacher said overall he's a bright kid and she just wants to make sure he learns to "collaborate" I said "collaboration is important. But so is recognizing when you're the only one doing the work. He'll learn that again in college. And again in the real world. Might as well start now." Nobody spoke The teacher closed her folder She said "I think we've covered everything" I said "one more thing" She braced herself I said "his reading is above grade level. His math is strong. He asks hard questions and corrects mistakes when he sees them. I just want to make sure this school knows what it has." The teacher looked at me differently My wife looked at me differently I said "that's all" We left In the car my wife was quiet Then she said "he's turning into you" I said "is that a good thing?" She didn't answer From the backseat he said "dad, why does the teacher count off for asking questions? Isn't that the whole point of school?" I looked at my wife She looked out the window I said "yes. It is." He said "I don't think she likes when I'm right" I didn't say anything Neither did my wife Small chairs Color-coded tabs No follow-up items But the kid's going to be fine Sent from my iPhone

🚨 Kansas HB 2476 ⚠️ Pesticide Immunity HB 2476 will be heard in the Senate Ag committee tomorrow 3/10. ☎️Urgent: CALL TODAY (3/9) ☎️ Kansas folks: Please call the senators on the Ag committee today Senator Virgil Peck - 785-296-7742 Senator Larry Alley - 785-296-7370 Senator Tory Marie Blew - 785-296-7682 Senator Craig Bowser - 785-296-7379 Senator Michael Fagg - 785-296-7678 Sen. Silas Miller - 785-296-7391 Senator Ronald Ryckman - 785-296-7359 Senator Doug Shane - 785-296-7368 Senator Brad Starnes - 785-296-7360 Senator Marci Francisco - 785-296-7364 Hello, I am calling for Senator _____ who is on the Agriculture committee. I live in Kansas - and I am asking _____ to vote no on HB 2476.  HB 2476 gives de facto immunity to pesticide manufacturers for ALL pesticides, that’s 57,000 pesticide products on the market now, and all future products. It’s not just farmers - but families like mine - that will be affected by this decision. These products can be found under the sink in your home - like disinfectants, ant traps, and bug sprays. HB2476 gives immunity from lawsuits to products that CHILDREN are exposed to. These products include household products children are exposed to and that can cause children to have cancer and disrupt their hormones. These products are missing warning labels and should not be given immunity from lawsuits. This includes products made by foreign adversaries including China CCP-owned companies - and those products will ALSO get immunity if this passes. If HB 2476 is in place - that process will be blocked - and no one will be able to hold these companies accountable. Please ask Senator ____ to vote no on HB 2476.

@calleymeans This is bullshit. Investments from industry only means they are investing in more propaganda - like the Monsanto papers. You don't think they actually do the science?

The Trump administration is announcing $1 billion in investments to spur research into the cumulative impacts of chemical exposures and support technologies to reduce our farmers’ dependence on chemicals. The U.S. currently uses 1.1 billion pounds of pesticides an herbicides. There is a massive market opportunity to build the future we all want. There’s tremendous innovation happening, but many of the precision ag or robotic tools are too expensive for many farmers. If you are an entrepreneur solving this problem, the admin wants to be a partner in speeding up progress. If you are a researcher studying cumulative impacts of toxin exposures (or risk mitigation techniques), please send your best ideas to the NIH.

@thatthingido2 Depending on your location, you may consider taking the child to see a specialist at Cincinnati Childrens or UPMC Children's in Pittsburgh. CHOP in Philadelphia also has a pretty good diagnostic and research growth center. These 3 are the best in the country in this discipline. I could say have the kiddo eat more eggs, etc, but it is probably smartest to do some diagnostic differentials before recommending a treatment diet. And as much as I love ice cream, and your kiddo also, I might be a bit cautious. If you got COVID when the baby was in utero or soon after birth, we are seeing a whole host of endocrine issues with kiddos that are affecting a lot of different growth milestones. There are some good papers out by Dr. Pinchas Cohen for short-stature related growth disorders. You know, Sandy Salsberg at Johns Hopkins has also published some good work. I am no expert on this topic, but I am not unfamiliar with some of the primary literature.

My 3 yo is small for his age. Like, really small. Born at 5 lb and then stayed in the 1st percentile for weight. We’ve had all sorts of tests run but no answers. Doctors are now pushing growth hormones. I’m not too keen on the idea. Any alternatives?

I agree. I homeschool, and the assumptions that public schools would expose this knowledge to students are erroneous and detrimental. Also consider that I and my GenX friends learned different things from our collective dads and moms, and even grandparents. From my observations, boomer grandparents have no interest in edifying their grandchildren. Not just passing on the knowledge, but making it a cultural-value transfer. We gained the perspective that it WAS important to learn these things, as well as the "Why" it was important. Kind of seems like we lost the cultural impetus for knowledge and learning.

PART of the problem has been that Gen X learned a lot of these things in school. reading clockface, writing cursive, and other things that USED to be taught at public schools. Our parents were by and large not available for much of our week lives and mostly we did things with them on weekends. School has changed so much though and those things are gone, but we still THINK the kids should know these things from other sources, because we did.

@DrJackKruse Also...does it have a promotional effect on other cancers? I never could get my head around slathering those crazy chemicals on my skin that I was about to have all the pores opened by the glorious sun....so then they could be sucked in to my body. Seemed crazy! 💖

@HaereticusL Don't be surprised if I take you up on that. My research into vibrio would have gone much smoother if I had experts to bounce thoughts off of. Everyone I reached out to didn't respond, so it took much longer to get up-to-speed on the subject.

Worked with my comps professor to figure out my history subfield this week. Turns out, it's environmental history. Which makes sense since every paper sitting at a journal right now discusses, in some fashion, the environment's impact on the human body.
