Low. Terrible on east coast. Some suppliers literally out of gas and diesel in northeast right now. Because of the 100 year old Jones Act, we can’t ship fuel to northeast from Texas .. have to import from Europe. Hard to believe but true.

@natsechobbyist @POTUS We already produce $2.3T (16.65% of world total) in manufacturing output, making up about 11% of our economy... it's been on a fairly steady increase over the past 3 decades. How much more manufacturing do we need? Seems like a sector that's already doing just fine...

@SullyCNBC Honestly, I wouldn't be all that sad to require more ships docking at US ports to have more requirements regarding staffing/employment/registration. There's a TON of shenanigans in all of these areas in international shipping that we all just ignore.

@SullyCNBC There's no reason these ships can't be Jones Act compliant. I think it's kind of a silly rule, but the big reason there are so few ships is that the companies operating them are super greedy, IMO.

@AJNoiter @cnnbrk The claim is patently absurd. There's absolutely no reason the speech and debate clause would impact his ability to testify in front of a grand jury. Like I said, the case literally makes no sense.

@HappyFunNorm @cnnbrk It's really not that difficult to understand. An appeal to SCOTUS was made. The Justice overseeing the circuit looks at the case. If they think it has a chance at SCOTUS, they place a stay ("freeze") until SCOTUS decides what to do with that case. It's not abnormal in any way.

@chrisgeidner Congress can impeach them. That's the enforcement mechanism. It's just not used.

This order — temporary, administrative, or whatever you want to call it — is nonetheless a prime example of the problem with the current way that recusal is handled on the Supreme Court. There is a federal recusal statute, but there's no real enforcement as to justices.

BREAKING: Justice Clarence Thomas has issued a stay halting the lower court orders that Sen. Lindsay Graham testify to the Fulton County grand jury. This appears to be a temporary (administrative) stay, as the response to Graham’s SCOTUS request is not even due until Thursday.

@KevinTMorris That's fine, I didn't vote in the primaries this cycle, either. There were a lot more competitive GOP primaries than Democratic ones, so you'd expect them to have a higher turnout, IMO.
