5/8 Deforestation in Somalia for wood burning and charcoal production has led to devastating consequences. It worsens drought and floods and has also funded the militant group Al-Shabaab in the past. We filmed bags of charcoal and wood transported outside Kismayo.

The @MoECC_Somalia and @MoEWRSo and @SoDMA_Somalia are working so hard and are seeing progress !

In #Garowe recently, @UN experts attended the 6th #Puntland Environment and Climate Change Conference, with the two-day event bringing stakeholders together to discuss issues such as #biodiversity, #climate resilience and #environmental justice - important topics for #Somalis' consideration given the impact of #climatechange on their country.
