@nypost Good grief! I'm glad I saw this. I wouldn't think about bed bugs on a train where there's no fabric for them to invest.

@EricLDaugh Resign?! Why? He'll get re-elected. Or replaced by a political clone.

Clackers were a popular toy in the #1970s
But the acrylic balls would shatter, spraying kids with fragments.
The Clacker was banned in 1981. Do you remember?

@therealmissjo Families left when they saw huge numbers of "youths".

What was supposed to be a fun day out in the park at the 404 Block Party in Atlanta turned into this…
People running for their lives through Piedmont Park.
Shots fired resulted in one woman dying and one 15 year old girl being shot, but still breathing when taken to hospital.
This is supposed to be a family event but the couple of families I know who went there left as soon as they saw huge numbers of youths showing up. They said “something felt wrong”.

@ToscaAusten A contributing factor is NYC's Dept of Finance which arbitrarily increases property taxes that landlords have to pay. The landlords WILL transfer that increase to tenants. Add to the mix, the Sanctuary city status and the costs will increase.

Promises made, Prices Raised
SILENCE AT CITY HALL: Mamdani’s "Affordability" Dream Becomes a $5,000 Nightmare
🏙️ And So It Begins.
Zohran campaigned with a smile, he told us a socialist in City Hall would finally stick it to the landlords. Instead, it’s the tenants getting gouged.
We’re 75 days into the Mamdani administration, and that "affordability" promise is starting to look like a cruel joke. While the .@NYCMayor stays quiet, the market is talking—and it’s saying "pay up."
📈 The Grim Milestone:
Manhattan: $5,000/month. A first-time-in-history gut punch.
Brooklyn: $4,500/month. Another all-time record.
It turns out that when you campaign on "ending" the housing crisis through massive government spending and radical rhetoric, the only thing that actually grows is your ego.
Oh, and the cost of living.
You can’t subsidize your way out of a supply problem, and you can’t tax your way to a cheaper apartment.
Bottom Line: New Yorkers voted for a "people’s mayor" to lower the rent. Instead, they got a foreign invasion, tax hikes, a silent City Hall and a
record-breaking rent check.
How’s that for "progress"? 📉🗽

@SaltyGoat17 I did not vote for this, and never will no matter where I am. However, the 57% percent of registered voters who did not bother to cast a ballot may learn a lesson. In this case, LACK of action can have consequences.

@alphafox Aw, I still view it with fondness. I can hear that catchy musical opening in my head and the whistle-pop of chomping on fleeing ghosts.

🚨 “The judge said he wasn’t a flight risk. A month later, he killed a child.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is demanding the impeachment of Leon County Judge Tiffany Baker-Carper after she released convicted sex offender Daniel Spencer on bond — despite prosecutors’ objections.
One month later, Spencer and the girl’s mother murdered 5-year-old Melissa “Missy” Mogle by asphyxiation.
DeSantis just signed Missy’s Law to keep dangerous convicts locked up pending sentencing and called on the House to impeach the judge.
AG Uthmeier formally requested proceedings.
Votes are there for impeachment.

@GigglingGanon I saw this movie in the theater, but I did not see this scene, I would have certainly remembered it. I know Riggs had a death wish and this would have solidified that character even more.

Who else is with me not knowing about this iconic deleted scene from the original lethal weapon movie 1987? 🤔
Here is more about it...
This iconic deleted scene from Lethal Weapon (1987) shows Martin Riggs walking straight into the line of fire to take down a school sniper and save innocent kids—raw, unhinged, and pure 80s action perfection. Fans have begged for this scene to stay in the final cut for decades; it’s the ultimate showcase of Riggs’ reckless heroism and why this buddy cop classic still hits harder than any modern action flick. No SWAT, no backup, just one lethal weapon doing what no one else will.

@GenXTalks1 I'd most likely be a gooney first and a nerd second.
