So the term can mean servant, chosen one, or one close to God, not literal deity. Now look at the same passage you quoted: John 17:3 ‘That they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.’ Jesus clearly: Calls the Father the only true God Describes

That conclusion doesn’t follow from the text. In Gospel of John 17:1, Jesus Christ says: ‘Father… glorify Your Son.’ But just calling someone “Son” does not automatically make them God. In the Bible, “son of God” is used in diff ways: Adam in Luke 3:38 Believers in Matthew 5:9
