First of all, the approach is wrong. Saying “even against Bangladesh” isn’t what good teams do — it belittles the opponent. Every side deserves respect. You pick the best available team and go all out. The real issues are selection, lack of emerging talent, and the absence of transparency in the system.

Hard to believe how far we’ve fallen struggling even against Bangladesh. If this is our level, how will Pakistan ever reclaim the grace it once had? #PakvsBan

These players mature first with better game awareness in a particular format. Then, they are included. First of all, wrong format for Maaz. He should be included in T20Is instead. Then, Maaz should be batting at 3 or below and Shamyl opens as that’s what they have been doing in what little cricket they have played. This is a recipe for disaster. Promising careers at stake. @ZAbbasOfficial franchise set up as well by those Indian IPL owners. The fact that Pakistan is still able to compete is itself a huge win without getting sorted of exposure which these Indian players get. Not to mention BCCI and ICC, Jay shah in that big seat helps them loads.
