I started out on X with the intent to solely grow WorkWomp, so I started it under that name. It has quickly turned into a buildinpublic/community building so I'll be changing my handle and name to better reflect what the account's intent is. Nice to meet you, I'm Inglehoff I'll be keeping the wombat avatar though! gotta have a mascot

@Inglehoff Chasing monetization is a trap ... and it just requires more and more hustle to move the number up. If you monetize just by virtue of doing what you'd do anyway, it's a nice bonus and no stress if you lose it again.

This account has existed for 1 year. A lot of people on X would probably cringe to see themselves at only 367 followers after a year. I'm happy with it. I never gamed followers. I never engage in engagement-slop. I never do follow-for-follow. I never use AI to post. Every single interaction I have on X is real and legitimate and that's the way I prefer it. My circle may be smaller than some, but I'd say it's of a much higher quality. And I've always valued quality over quantity.

First iteration of the "global" search result map - definitely some bugs i'm working out Circle is your area of travel (1 hour from denver in this case) so we only show results within that radius Travel path will show you the fastest route to the selected campsite in the list of results (or clicking on a map element)

What is one thing people realize too late?

@Inglehoff okay, okay, I'd do it for free there is no secret, you need to post unique replies and get a bit lucky with the algorithm

5 million impressions. That's the wall most X accounts are grinding against right now. For some it takes weeks. For others, months. And if you're under 5K followers, it's brutal. You already know that. I'm not even there yet. But I know what actually moves the needle: viral replies. One that lands can do a million views on its own (like my best reply, see image). That's weeks of posting into the void, compressed into an afternoon. Can you go viral on command? No. Nobody can. But there are a few things that tilt the odds. I'll get into those soon.
