Fiona Bruce, "SNP, you want a compulsory cap on food?" Stephen Flynn, "Absolutely we should do this" "I have spent the last six and a half years in politics outraged at the fact that there are people in our communities who can't get back" "So many of them rely on food banks, and they can only do so much work" "It's incumbent upon politicians of all colours that people's basic needs, the ability to feed themselves can be met" "We're seeking to bring forward legislation to cap the price on some specific items that we all find in our shops and that people need for a godo healthy balanced diet" "I'm at a loss as to why an individual who sits in the House of Lords would seek to disagree with that - maybe because he's completely out of touch"

Wealth is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a tiny few, while we're told there's no money for essential public services like the NHS. By developing a Scottish Wealth Tax we could make landowners, polluters and billionaires pay their fair share towards the common good.

There should be no surprise at behaviour of Ben-Gvir. He , like Netanyahu & his regime, has long ago lost any sense of decency & humanity. What should shock us is our own government continues to sell arms to Israel, refuses to sanction the regime & hasn’t kicked out its ambassador
Channel 4 News@Channel4News

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has released video footage on social media of himself berating detained activists from the Gaza flotilla. The video has prompted international outrage, while the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Ben Gvir’s actions were ‘not consistent with the values of the State of Israel’

If this is how they treat Europeans under the full glare of the media spotlight, can you imagine how they brutalise Palestinians who are in their jails - some of them children - who are hidden away from cameras.

TW: This footage shows activists who were taking part in a flotilla to Gaza being brutally assaulted by officials Far-right Israeli security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir – who has been sanctioned by the UK for his comments about Gaza – posted the video, sparking significant backlash

This moment charging up the pitch to lift the Championship after such a tense afternoon will live with me daily & forever. We’ve been castigated for winning the league. We’ve suffered deliberate wrongful decisions against us since inception in 1888. We’re not meant to enjoy👊

His dog "took care of some Nukhbas in Sde Teiman, did a lot." He's saying that his dog "took care" of some Palestinian detainees in the notorious Sde Teiman prison camp. What did he mean?
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

Israel is using dogs to rape Palestinians. There are multiple testimonies about this crime. When I first reported on this obscenity, it triggered a firestorm. The New York Times has now, finally, reported on it - and Israel's systematic use of sexual violence.

Families are struggling, workers are exploited, and our climate is in crisis. All this pomp and grandeur for an unelected billionaire won't help the people of Scotland. It's time to #AbolishTheMonarchy

Incredible achievement by the "Gaza: Doctors Under Attack" team. Thank you for your bravery and your unwavering commitment to the truth. Well done on your BAFTA and quite right to call out the cowardice of the BBC management for dropping the documentary in the first place.
Middle East Eye@MiddleEastEye

BBC-dropped documentary Gaza: Doctors Under Attack wins Bafta TV Award. In his acceptance speech, Ben De Pear called out the broadcaster, which  initially commissioned the documentary before shelving it, citing that airing it would create a “perception of partiality”

Scathing form Labour veteran John McDonnell "Many of us remain bewildered why Mandelson's appointment was made despite the many warnings" "Isn't the reality this: when he sought to be leader with very little base in the Labour party he became dependent on McSweeny, Mandelson and Labour Together to fund his campaign: "And when he became PM the reward for McSweeny was control of No 10" "And for Mandelson the highest diplomatic office" "And the unspoken message for civil servants: what Mandelson wants Mandelson gets" "This has damaged the party" "I urge him, I urge him, I urge him, to take steps to clear this toxic culture out of our party" "And have an independent inquiry into Labour Together"

Breaking: Today's mass arrests of peaceful protesters in Trafalgar Square under UK terrorism law are yet another blow to civil liberties in this country - and made all the more outrageous by the Metropolitan Police's own U-turn. The High Court ruled in February that the proscription of Palestine Action was unlawful. The Met rightly said it would stop making arrests. It has now gone back to its old, failed policy - mass arrests of people holding pieces of card, including today an elderly woman with walking sticks. This is not policing. This is the state criminalising dissent. Take action now with thousands of other Amnesty International supporters and sign the petition to end all prosecutions against these peaceful protesters. amn.st/6015B60qQv
