With the horrible reminder through the arrest of Ben Roberts Smith proving well and truly that there is not a two tiered legal system, it is time for the same $300m to go into investigating a very well documented corrupt police department in Victoria. Hypothetically... with the horrible Ben Roberts Smith story proving without question that Australia is not a murderous society, imagine for one second if a well proven lying police department was in fact guilty of more than one murder in the state of Victoria... most recently, in some people's twisted minds, the justified execution, possibly, of a 2 x cop killer by the name of Dezi Freeman. Hypothetically of course, all though you do not have to draw too long a bow on this one for those hypotheticals to be removed... if a member of the Hells Angels were to get executed in cold blood by a member of another outlaw motorcycle gang, for this story, lets say The Mongols in a drug deal gone wrong. For this exercise say that the Mongols bikie club member executed a member of the Hells Angels in a drug deal gone wrong... if the Hells Angels turned around and then executed a Mongol in what was premeditated, planned assassination, they would be by far the worse of the two. The way the Australian legal system sees it is that the Hells Angel is a way, way, way worse person than the Mongol, who was possibly in a heightened state, agitated, his house was being run through etc. etc. Now, lets view the entire Dezi Freeman story with that lens, with the lens of Dezi Freeman, granted, the guy ended up killing two police officers and deserved to feel the full force of the law, however he killed those two officers in a heightened state and after very clear, well documented, years of harassment... there was no planning or premeditation. Now, let's say, remember we are talking about a police department with more cover ups than a tub of butter, more proven, decades old corruption than any police department in Australia. A police department that is already strongly linked to the execution murder of an informant and his entirely innocent wife. Now lets look at that Dezi Freeman story again, mix it with the horrible arrest and persecution of Ben Roberts Smith and, well, if it is good enough for an Australian war veteran, it is more than good enough for the AFP to spend $300m on some rogue, corrupt, low life corrupt, did I say the word corrupt already, state police officer, or most probably, very sadly, police officers. Of course, body cam footage would put any of that doubt to bed now wouldn't it.

@10NewsMelb Police will tell you they did everything they could to get him to surrender peacefully. They did not. This was a police revenge. Nothing else. Nobody will ever convince me otherwise.

The airwaves were noticeably quieter this morning as Jackie O gave a no-show from the Kyle & Jackie O Show following an explosive on-air clash with her co-host, Kyle Sandilands. While many listeners are calling "stunt" on the sudden disappearance, others are starting to wonder if the duo has shifted from shock-jock entertainment into a public display of workplace bullying.

The man accused of creating ‘Pam the Bird’ graffiti has been ordered to stand trial in the County Court. Labelled one of Australia's most prolific vandals, the 22-year-old made an awkward exit from court in his latest attempt to ruffle feathers. @ainsleykoch
