@EricSell @blanchard4bmore @MayorBMScott There has been engagement and listening regarding his individual bill. However, the overall package, as it’s currently presented, has not had broader engagement or an opportunity for every neighborhood’s concerns to shape the final plan.

@JamesTorrenceJD @blanchard4bmore I didn’t catch the council meetings. What was @MayorBMScott’s response to this? Why did he support the proposals without, as you say, “listening, engaging and ensuring that every neighborhood’s concerns shape the final plan”?

As a Baltimore homeowner, I don’t have strong feelings about the development proposals. What’s most interesting to me is the political divide they’ve created in the city, with white progressives supporting the changes and black community advocates opposing them.

@blanchard4bmore @EricSell Ignoring calls from Black and Brown residents for clear guardrails in development policy only reflects the structural inequities in how community voices are valued. True equity means listening, engaging and ensuring that every neighborhood’s concerns shape the final plan.

@blanchard4bmore @EricSell Dismissing this as a “generational divide” ignores the structural racism at play. The older generation opposing these changes were children raised under Jim Crow segregation; their fears are rooted in lived experience with displacement and exclusion, not mere age.

Joined the No Boundaries Coalition for the #PutYourSeatWhereYourMouthIs challenge, taking the same bus route many youth use to reach Druid Hill Park. A 1-mile walk after the bus reminded me that real access to recreation means more than just proximity.
