@duncsand @ctrlaltrefuel @OctopusEnergy I tried that on IOG with my 10kw of house battery 🔋 but the 18hours gap without low price power pulled me into peak rates due to my heat pump. Not a cover all tariff for heat pump and ev yet

@ctrlaltrefuel @OctopusEnergy It’s the published rates on the octopus IOG web page - just out in my postcode and this it what it shows.

When my home battery arrives, I'll be running my house at 5.49p/kWh the whole day.

Whatever your stance on power generation this is an eminently sensible idea . So much dead space could be used for solar. Much better than using productive farmland.

@LewisStanding1 @robhawkes I don't. There was big supply chain issues with the nacelle production in Saint Nazaire causing supply conflict between USA and DB. I left 2.5 years ago after 1st install.

Do we have first power at Dogger Bank B? According to the balancing data we have 26MW of output today at Dogger Bank B, which will eventually have an installed capacity of 1.2GW. This also implies two (out of 95) of the 13 MW Haliade-X wind turbines have been installed in recent weeks. The data first appears on the morning of March 11th with 13MW of reported output, which also aligns with a single turbine being installed at the time. The latest REMIT data lists an installed capacity of 39MW, which implies 3 turbines have been installed so far. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see how things progress…

@robhawkes The GE lease at Seaton Carew ran until mid 2026 (i managed it) and an extension wasn't signed. Jobs, heads and vessels now on Cromarty Firth.

@JoeColl87 Wow as in the top of Scotland?! I'll keep an eye on that with the AIS data and see what shows up.

@robhawkes I expect there will be a further delay in installing DBB as they're moving the turbine marshalling harbour operations from Seaton Carew to Nigg this year, tower deliveries started to be re-routed. Seaton will be used for Hornsea 3 turbines (Siemens)

@JoeColl87 Ah got it! It's really cool to see power so soon after installation. I thought I'd be waiting a while longer to see things happening on the map.

@robhawkes More of a milestone (emotional and contractual) in having turbines spinning on DBA and DBB than just DBA alone. I'll ask some questions to guys on the project 🙂

@JoeColl87 I don't follow, suspect what's a preference? I need to double-check my data but I think Voltaire went straight from the last, delayed DBA turbine to DBB which would be interesting.
