Data suggests that if Google does not recrawl a URL after 129 days URL it falls out of the index. #smxadvanced

English

@UpperClassArmz What would you like to know. The domains we looked at are from different verticals and are very different in size and traffic.
English

@UpperClassArmz We used ScreamingFrog to fetch data with URL Inspection API for a couple of thousand random urls each day. After discovering the pattern on the first domain we validated.
You'd find 129 days in ScreamingFrog. But if you have a look at it, you see it's just the timezone difference

@lilyraynyc Oh: And completely forgot: There is also a certificate that you know what one should know after beeing in SEO after a year bvdw.org/zertifizierung…
(I'm one of the persons who initiated this and I'm still part of the committee responsible for creating the test).
English

@lilyraynyc Fun fact: There are people in Germany who want to create a DIN-Standard for SEO. 🙈 din-spec-33461.de
But we also have an organisation auditing SEO Agencies. bvdw.org/zertifizierung…
English

This stuff makes me sad.
We need a neutral SEO consumer protection agency or some kind of official professional certification.
(I also fully understand the reasons we don’t have those things.)
And as comical as it is that SEOs can SEO their way to the top for keywords like “best SEO in the world,” this is also a big part of the problem.

For those of you whose sites were impacted by the September 2023 Helpful Content Update (significant drop starting Sept 15-20, 2023): Pre-HCU, were you actively using online communities and courses to learn and apply recommended SEO tactics to your sites? Please only reply if this poll applies to you and you actually tried to optimize your site for SEO at that time. Examples:

I really enjoyed @SabTheLa's talk at #techseosummit. I wasn't up on her. Y'all should book her to speak more.
English

@carolynholzman @iPullRank It‘s not the same URLs. We checked a couple of thousand random URLs from Sitemaps everyday. Looked them up in URL Inspection API. We did this for months and can exclude interference by Sitemap or Website changes as we did this for a reasonable couple of domains.
English

@Johanstormarn @iPullRank Was the sitemap resubmitted and/or any modifications made to any pages during the time period?
English

@StefanVorwerk @iPullRank I‘m sure your slides and presentation will be way better than mine.
English

@StefanVorwerk @iPullRank No. I can give you my whole deck if you want to do a decent presentation. 🖖
English

@Johanstormarn @iPullRank Should I deleze the reference to your findings @Johanstormarn from my deck 😅

@JascaCai @MSBing_Dev @facan @BingWMC Hi @JascaCai, do you (or @MSBing_Dev, @facan, @BingWMC) have any public updates on this?
English

@Johanstormarn @MSBing_Dev @facan @BingWMC I am from Bing team, could you share some URLs samples to me with more details ?
English

@MSBing_Dev Hi there! I've noticed a key difference in how Bingbot processes web components and shadow DOM compared to Google. I have a client whose site is perfectly crawlable by Google, but Bing seems to struggle. Quick comparison:
@facan @BingWMC

English

@gfiorelli1 @facan @lilyraynyc You can filter the #monthly-201901-202403" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">gs.statcounter.com/search-engine-… to europe and see a similar trend

English

@facan @lilyraynyc What about the progression in Europe, an historically difficult market for the Bing ecosystem? Asking because it would be cool to have first hand data to present to European clients about the importance of investing part of the budget to it.
English

Indeed @lilyraynyc, Bing usage extends beyond what many search engine optimizers (SEOs) may realize. If you zoom in, there have been notable trends to consider as the market share of desktop search engines in the United States since 2019
#monthly-201901-202403" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">gs.statcounter.com/search-engine-…
Additionally, it’s important to remember that Bing powers several other search engines, including DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Ask, Ecosia, Swisscows and more surfaces as Windows, Copilot and more. If you sum up all, the impact is even more significant. comscore.com/Insights/Blog/…
This isn’t just a matter of click volume; it’s about the business value derived from those clicks, which correlates well with searchers satisfaction. SEOs who monitor business conversion rates per 1000 users find Bing’s traffic to be particularly valuable. Happy SEOs tracking business conversion = happy "Bing" searcher = happy Fabrice.
Lily Ray 😏@lilyraynyc
Google has slightly declined (approx -2%) in the past year in overall search engine market share, both globally and in the U.S. In the U.S., that 2% growth mostly went to Bing.
