So here's another "hot seo take:" Paid links and certain types of SEO spam still work great. really good. Until one day when they randomly don't anymore and your agency is screwed.

When JohnMu retweets your thoughts on disavows and every SEO who's selling that as a service comes at you in the comments. heh.

Seriously. Such disrespect. Does she really think Chappelle fans are transphobic? At Chase Center? In SF? JFC.

AI needs to update its music knowledge. Or maybe not a Carpenters fan?

@matthew_d_green The source of trust must be transparent and the basis of the trust declared. Whose user tables and whose keys are we relying for any authentication.

You always have to trust something. This is an iron law. But maybe — optimistically — the thing you have to trust could be temporally limited. That’s probably the best hope for crypto.

One of my favorite computer security/cryptography failure modes is when designers forget that some part of the system ultimately has to be trusted.

@chiropractic I am 56, not 55. And my blood pressure is much lower than that.

I had an idea while driving to ask #ChatGPT to assist in writing Medical Narrative Reports. With some tuning, and eventually an easily filled out form, this could be huge. Billing/report writing software is insanely expensive.

@jm_cook Actually, Berkeley has been experimenting with a non-shelter alternative which is basically warehouse people can "camp" inside with 24 hr access and few of the "usual" restriction. ktvu.com/news/unhoused-…

According to ChatGPT, a pizza that provided an 8oz slice for each person on the planet would be 389.2 million pounds. "I'm not sure if it's possible to make a single pizza that large, but it would certainly be a daunting task!" #pizza

@chiropractic I haven't gotten access yet but I want to know how good it is at original pickup lines. I am married, so this isn't for practical suggestions; I just think it is an interesting test of a language model.

Need a snarky tweet reply? ChatGPT can do that too. "That outfit looks great on you. It really highlights the fact that you have no fashion sense." "I'm so glad you're here to tell me how to live my life. Without you, I would have no idea what to do."

@robdwoods @bhartzer Funny thing is that the number of results and the speed were Google's original value proposition, even before we came to trust them for relevance. Apparently, none of those things matters much anymore.

Now seeing no 'number of results' in the Google SERPs, looks like it's removed from the site: search operator but also from the search results as well.

True story: I was once delighted to finally and unexpectedly meet my office crush, who had left the company, at a business meeting -- only to learn that she had already moved in with HER office crush from the same building. Moral: act fast

Had to look at all the adorbs/sketchy tabloid pix of this couple, for professional reasons. Amazingly, @helaineolen writes, workplace meet-cutes actually went UP during Covid, perhaps because without IRL socializing, Slack became a de facto dating app washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/…

@jm_cook OK but in fairness, don't blame the DoT. I, for one, am happy that Caltrans was finally allowed to clear homeless camps from the freeways exits in the Bay Area. IDK what the best solution is, but allowing tents/garbage to build up everywhere is not it.
