@mcuban 2/2 the second reason is that a truly open public square is not monatizable as those that pay the bills are rightfully not comfortable with dialog that is not in line with their values.

@mcuban 1/2 There are 2 problems with the goal of a true 'public square' . 1) A public square is not managed by an algorithm. An algorithm by its design and it's purpose is to add bias. That said an algorithm is necessary to surface personally relevant content to keep people engaged.

TBH , the tech is now far better since you took over. It's cleaner and you have introduced services (blue check excepted) that make the service more usable. The raw truth is the biggest challenge you have is your influence on the algorithms and the content they present. The platform can't be a collective consciousness when one person controls the algorithms and effectively dictates what we all see. That's not a public square. X is Elon's square. It's Elon's consciousness as a platform. If you want proof, just read the inevitable replies from people who don't follow me. Which is a shame because IMO, it's so close.

@Visa seems more and more businesses are charging a "convenience fee" or "cost of inflation fee' for use of credit cards again discouraging usage. What's up?

@askvisa Well aware cards are issued by banks, but @askvisa charges merchants transaction fees, which they are now passing on to customer.

@Jsratner Hello Jeff. Please keep in mind that Visa Gift cards are issued & managed by the banks. Each has their own criteria when it comes to fees. I recommend contacting the card issuer using the # on the back of the card concerning the fee. VV

@Jsratner If they're meeting and speaking, they're doing so in obscurity. The Dems have no clue how to burnish their image and transmit their message, on either a macro or micro level.

Why do we never see clips of Democrats speaking at various functions excoriating Republicans and/or pressing their values? We tend to only see the GOP doing so. Dems need to spread their message to both their base and the country as a whole, and fast, and they must do so fast.
