Our beloved dog Draven died fairly peacefully at home about an hour ago. We had her for 14 wonderful years (she was about 16). — I found her on Hwy. 231 in Florida trying to cross a divided highway. I could see her bounding across the grass for quite some distance. I got to where she was and pulled over. Oncoming traffic could have EASILY avoided her, but two cars hit her on purpose while I was trying to get to her. She bounced up in the air after the first car. She tried to lift her head, but I’m so glad she didn’t because that second car would’ve taken her head off. It ran right over her. I drug her out of the road and carried her to my car. Thankfully she only had a bruised hip and a small laceration on her paw. I called Dad because I had nowhere to take her. - Brad and I both had apartments that wouldn’t take pets, so Dad let her come and stay with him until we got a place. He really bonded with her, and this is breaking his heart. She’d always sleep with him when he visited. Anyway, dear Draven, you’ll be sorely missed. May God take good care of you, and you can walk and run and see again.
