We're in Parliament today, giving evidence to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Gambling Reform on the powers local councils need to say no to excessive gambling operators. Councils like Brent are bound by legislation which aims to permit, rather than protect. @GRHAPPG 🧵

📢 Stop Gambling with Our Lives Brent Council is calling on the Government to undertake urgent reforms of gambling legislation, protecting our most vulnerable residents and keeping our high streets healthy and safe. We promised to crack down on gambling harms - and we meant it.

WE WON! Beyond proud of the hundreds of GMB members at Medirest who stood together and demanded equal pay and conditions. Now they’ve just won huge improvements to their pay and terms at LNWH, including parity of pay which delivers an up to *25%* pay rise for the lowest paid.
