@hermanschutte Apologies for the inconvenience. We’ve found that logging out of the app, uninstalling it, then reinstalling and logging back in usually resolves the issue.

its Shelley, not Shirley. Sorry 🤷‍♀️
This fucking sucks. But here’s what it is. My kid’s dad is no longer with us. I say “kid’s dad” but he was also my husband and chosen partner for over a decade. To anyone who knew him, I’m so sorry, I am fucked. I am processing. I’m trying to be the best mom that I can 🤷‍♀️💔

CHAMPIONS! What a day. Violent stomach bug this morning and couldn’t even keep water down. Casualty. Blood tests. Serious bacterial infection. My Christmas lunch was a drip of antibiotics. 2/10. Wouldn’t recommend. Bed time. Early flight. See you at @SA20_League opener in CT! ❤️

13 years ago, today, my brother and I were standing in a beautiful garden in the middle of Wuppertal, Germany. We had travelled to Europe to scatter my Dad's ashes a year and a half after he passed. And as sombre as that sounds, it was an absolute adventure. My father was adopted. I don't tell a lot of people that… I'm not sure why. But it's essential for this story. You see, even though he had the best Mom and Dad (my Ouma and Oupa), I think he always felt like a piece of him was lost or missing. He was an engineer, so worked in a very German-orientated field. He spoke the language fluently and spent a lot of time in the Central European region. I can speak a little of it too. Ask Travis, who nearly fell off the boat on Monday when I started speaking to a German tourist. And then Mon, who also nearly fell off the boat when I told her that my German only consisted of a few sentences, but my brother can speak it fluently. Her reaction was hilarious. I digress. Jammer Wimpie. Somehow, along my Dad's adventures, he met a guy called Willie. A crazy German who must have been 20 years his senior. Willie would become a massive part of our lives. He couldn't speak a word of English (except lekker but said as “lekor”, he loved using that word). He and his partner, Margie, would visit us in South Africa often. She was a hoot too, loved tanning naked. Oh, how we laughed when one Christmas, she decided that Uvongo Beach was an excellent spot to lose all her clothing. I still laugh thinking about that day. They were both so much fun. Willie seemed to fill that missing part in my Dad's life. He was like another Grandfather to us. He was kind, funny and friendly. Everyone who knew him loved him. He truly loved my Dad like a son. And good grief, he could drink beer! So it was only fitting that we laid him to rest where Willie lived. But friends, travelling with my brother was ridiculous. Like totally absurd. Crazy but so much fun. Justin got lost on the trains in Brussels (with my Dad's ashes), we drank far too much Duvel together (that stuff is made from the devil), we got kicked out of a club, stuck in an apartment, went missing for a couple of hours, sang karaoke with a cousin in Diest… and got to say goodbye to my Dad with Willie (and a beer) by our side. I have never laughed so much in my life. It was one of the wildest trips I have ever been on. Ja, we had a good cry standing in those gardens on that day but every other moment of that trip was an adventure. Willie passed away a few years ago. So last year, while at a conference in Germany, I decided to take a train to “visit” my dad and Willie… I wrote about what a mess it was. How my train got stopped. How I ended up in a completely different city. And then landed up drinking with football hooligans. I didn't make it to Wuppertal that day. Instead, I spent the day doing exactly the things my Dad would have. I spent time with (new) friends. I laughed. I saw sights in cities I had never been to before. And I had the most fun. The biggest adventure. That's something my Dad believed… and taught me. Everything can be an adventure if you make it one. I like to think that wherever my dad is, so are all his friends. They are there together. Drinking beer. Sometimes speaking German. Having an adventure. That's what I want to leave you with today... Everything is an adventure if you make it one! So let’s make it one!!! Okay. Liebe Dich. Auf Wiedersehen.

I decided I can't let my leave end without me doing something fun. So I am going to Knysna for a few days. I have not been there before. Anything in Knysna that I absolutely have to visit or do?
