you do not necessarily just go to A&P school it depends on the AFSC and AF is pretty specialized meaning you could be an aircraft electrician like me and that doesnt send you to A&P but you can take the initiative and they will pay for or at least part of your schooling. either way its a good choice if thats the career field you want to go in to. definitely will not hurt. just make sure you pick the right job and its confirmed...

@amylcris You don't even have to go active duty. There's an AF Reserve or Air National Guard unit near you. He'd do basic, and A&P tech school, getting paid all the while. Then he owes 1 weekend a month for 4 years plus 1 month in summer. The airlines will work with that.

My 22-year-old son now wants to attend Aviation Mechanic School. It costs $40,000. They do not accept student aid. The only grants are these: 332 Heritage Foundation, Black Pilots of America, Latino Pilot Association, National Gay Pilot Association, Organization of Black Professionals, Professional Asian Pilots, Women in Aviation.
So how is an average young white straight male supposed to go without me co-signing a full loan? 🤦♀️

yeah thats the problem, the morons, just let them wait till they turn 62 then they will realize its a scam, but then its too late. I agree with Bernie on this actually... And I also cap out on Social Security (in December... not like most of the year).
Where Bernie is wrong is thinking this is enough to solve the problem. But I'm fine with at least raising the cap on Social Security taxes.
Realistically I think Americans would do better to get rid of Social Security altogether and instead invest that money for better growth potential, but if we insist on keeping it on the right and the left raising the caps isn't a bad solution to avoiding short-term insolvency.
