Decided to take the gamer Twitter approach for my dinner today. I had a KFC, which we enjoyed, but told the family we couldn't enjoy it because their stock is down 7% this month and the queue was only 3 cars long.

@Max_love55 @TheTacoTim I think thats a good idea. I feel like maybe make it so that you can only unlock factions in a strictly pve enviourment. Sort of like a coop thing for you and friends or solo. So when you select a faction unlock mission, to be put into a pve lobby

@TheTacoTim I think PvE should be implemented solely as a substitute and expansion for beginner perimeter, to introduce new players to the gameplay loop, then after they reach a certain threshold they should be barred from it permanently, it should also have AI controlled UESC runner teams

Ragebait and joking aside for the moment. (yes I'm being serious for a moment) - Personally I don't care for a PvE mode (perhaps outside of a PvE co-op based LTM for like an event) similar to Apex's Halloween stuff back in the day - Tarkov's PvE did split it's community, however the context of that was largely around frustration with cheaters and the ultra-hardcore aspect of it. (over 1k hours in Tarkov, and 50% of them was in the last two wipes at least) - I do think Marathon COULD benefit in the sense of casual players having a slightly more enjoyable experience, gaming is sweaty nowadays and while I personally wouldn't play a PvE mode, there are people out there frustrated with aspects of it's PvP. I think that's a tell of an underlying issue (kind of how solos are miserable with the Assassin/Void spam, and the general aversion some players have to solos as a result) - Do I trust bungie to make the best choice for their game? Absolutely. They should, at the end of the day, do what's best for the game. Regardless of what I or anyone else says. (I'm gonna get flamed for this take aren't I... I LITERALLY PLAYED D2 FOR OVER 900 HOURS YES I UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED.) - I think they cooked making this game and I genuinely haven't had this much fun with gaming in a LONG time - By no means is this game perfect. However their quick turn around on fixing stuff and addressing it has been really fast. That makes me hopeful that certain issues will be fixed in time - For those of you who are crying about it being a "dead game" why do you pull up your bookmarks for the steamcharts (yes i know you have it) and then look at other games. 50-60k players during most hours of the day is largely successful in the gaming scene. Not everything is going to be a massive hit or attract large player counts. If they wanted that, they wouldn't have made an extraction shooter. (I consider Arc an exception here as they heavily cater to the casual player, which is FINE but ultimately is an outlier in terms of extraction shooter. It's VERY niche.) Let Bungie cook, they've done it in the past, and they're doing it now. There's a reason so many of us loved Halo, Destiny, and various other IPs made by them (regardless of the criticisms on their current state) you can't deny they make fun games. That's what matters. Having fun. In this day and age "content creation" has made a mockery of what gaming really is in an attempt for a viral post or clicks. (yes I understand the irony of a content creator saying that) Go play games, and have fun. If you aren't, find a different game. You're not gonna like everything, and that's fine!

Changes they should make for Marathon: -PvE Mode -Start with the CE Tactical Sidearm -Spawn in Overflow -Upgrade your gun by spending points -Points are given by defeating UESC and completing waves -Unlock different POI’s in the map by spending points -Could add a secret easter egg maybe to introduce its story or lore? -Make enemy health and damage scale with waves -Make durandal shit talk you the entire time -Remove all movement abilities and tactical/prime abilities -Could add map specific relics or weapons too? Idk could make itself into a fire game Gif in the replies for what it could look like gameplay loop wise: (Also this is satire in case you couldn’t tell… and I’m sure there is a lot of you)

The only reason streamers tell their caht to stfu about the hate, is cuz its annoying and it takes away from the enjoyment

I’m showing the opposite side of the spectrum and the same way reviewers can get paid to hate on a game the same can be said for fake love for the game…those reviews mean nothing when nearly every streamer has to tell their entire chat to stop hating…does that mean every streamers chats are bots or are the masses agreeing that is a bad game? There’s people that like it. True but there’s a larger community that sees that a big part of the love for the game is also fabricated.

@ArcxonLive @LoveRachael_ I would understand this take, if the reviews in steam and everywhere else would be under 50%, but they arent. So clearly people that actually bothered to learn and experience the game have more say if its good or not, unlike you buddy boy who hasnt touched it yet

@PorkPoncho @MarathonDevTeam Hunt Showdown already does this, to where they put cash registers for the premium currency around the map. Its like one of them every like 100 or 100 something matches. Only one spawns on the map, so you got to search for it and dont know when it does spawn

If @MarathonDevTeam dropped like 2 stacks of 20 lux in completely random unlocked containers on every match (that would count for the whole squad on exfil) I guarantee playerbase would go up. Imagine wiping a team in a satisfying gunfight only to then find out they also had a small amount of premium currency. It doesn’t have to be much, but giving people a small amount of the premium currency as something you can actually earn and fight over in game would for sure have more people engaging with the store. Plenty of people will say “I don’t really care if engage with any MTX stuff” and that’s totally fair but plenty of people do and giving them a way to engage with that system with no entry cost would for sure make them willing to then actually spend their money. Thoughts @Ziegler_Dev?

I am mentally bracing for the shutdown of Bungie. Sony has already shut down many “underperforming” studios recently and their most expensive one is not pumping out money like they probably want. Neither D2 or Marathon are commercial hits… I am very worried

@PiggyKropotkinn ofc sony expects a return, but i can assure you they dont expect a return in the snap of a finger. It was clear as day that both the destiny franchise and marathon/future additions will need a lot of work before they can make a proper return
