As one of the few Sikhs in the public eye in Britain, I have found myself inundated with messages... The death of Henry Nowak was horrific and as a mother to a 20yo son I can't even begin to imagine the pain. I just can't..my heart is broken for his family... The killer was a monster. Evil - He does not represent the entire Sikh community. For over 100-years Sikhs have been in Britain -kirpan and all- and in that time we have become an example of all that is great about this nation; integrated, peaceful, disproportionately philanthropic, and by all measures an overwhelming asset to the UK. Not to mention, the World War contributions, which is what opened up the path for many of our families to emigrate here in the first place. Yet, one incident -literally one!- and all that gets chucked in the bin and our entire community is now a target??! Just last month a white man was found guilty of raping a Sikh woman because of how she looked! Did Sikhs demand all white men be curfewed or giving restraining orders around brown women??? We are not taught you judge an entire community based on the actions of one. When Britain needed Sikhs, we have always stepped up; from the World Wars to the work of dozens of Sikh charities on the streets of Britain today.

@bs_pearson British justice is so poor right now. Those who deserve tough sentences, rapists, groomers, death by drunk drivers etc get light sentences. Hurry words get tough sentences and god help if you’re attacking police and not white then don’t be surprised to get let off.

It’s not often I write a post like this, but I feel I need too. After 19 years as a cop, and giving my life for the public I’ve never met, believing in a better tomorrow…..I’m utterly disgusted, ashamed and have absolutely no faith in our justice system anymore. An officer was fired for arresting a violent offender, who was armed with a weapon, because he had used some naughty words. The same ex-officer tackled a shoplifter who’s been charged with a plethora of offences, but has now been charged with assault after taking the offender to the floor. (Which is what he was trained to do) Then two violent thugs, assault various people, attack female officers, and when an officer steps in to do his job, they can’t get a guilty verdict or won’t run a final trial. I’m lost for words and have absolutely no faith in CPS, their decision making, or the justice system. This is not just a case for the police, but shows the greater community that if you’re decent and law abiding, witness a crime and want to help…..you’ll have the book thrown at you. However if you want to fight to police……it’s perfectly fine to do so.

@NormanBrennan Norman you may not agree with me but with this case being so available for all to see, the jury must be investigated. I don’t believe this was impartial who acted on own initiative and it wouldn’t surprise me if some were tampered. Let’s face it this would be the least shock ever

The individual responsible for this horrific incident should face the full force of the law. But let’s be absolutely clear: punishing an entire faith community for the actions of one person is neither fair nor sensible. The kirpan has been carried responsibly by baptised Sikhs for over 300 years and is a recognised article of faith. Banning it would do nothing to tackle criminality and everything to undermine religious freedom. We should target criminals, not communities. Folks as one of the accounts that helped on X send this matter viral & correct the original clip posted; which I’m aware was monitored by Both defence council in this matter; I will state that Both of these Brothers were full of pumped up anger & aggression after the younger brother had head-butted a passenger in the Starbucks food-hall; which then caused the Armed officers to be called to attend this incident; Both Brothers then took that anger out on a number of Armed police officers including PC Ward who received a broken nose; they knew they were police but non the less punched & kicked out with uncontrolled & utmost anger & violence; They then used the fanciful defence of ‘Self Defence’ to cover/mask their own outrageous violent behaviour & for good measure stated the lie of believing that they were about to be shot & killed; Millions saw both the original video clip which was far more balanced when the 2nd one was posted on social Media; I believe that these Two Violent Thugs have got away with ABH on PC Marsden by their lawyer bamboozling the jury with the above nonsensical defences; to cause more confusion they introduced how many police they knew or were related to along with calling the police violence thugs; There were only two violent thugs that night & that was these two brothers who firstly attacked a passenger & then a number of police officers when already full of anger & aggression! That’s my overview; you of course will form your own opinions from what you have both seen & heard at the two trials! Thanks!

Both the Tories and Reform are now saying the kirpan should be banned. This is totally wrong. The kirpan is a key article of the Sikh faith. An entire community cannot be tarred by the horrendous actions of one person.

In a nutshell, calls out - NIGEL FARAGE for being allowed to act with total impunity. - the police officer did not use reasonable force by taking a running kick and stamping on the accused head whilst he was down. - the two brothers have been subjected to death threats and hanging.
