The ABC has declared Donald Trump's "rapidly thinning credibility" means his word can no longer be trusted more than messaging coming from the Islamic theocratic Iranian regime.

1) Regime change did happen, Trump killed all the leaders, clergy, general, etc., and left the people alive who would surrender.
2) Rogue terrorist regime that was destabilizing the Middle East has been eliminated and nuclear ambitions neutralized.
3) World can no longer be held hostage via Iranian regime at strait of Hormuz where 20% of world oil travels through.
A radical Shia regime took control of Iran, had terrorists proxies all over the Middle East, causing death and destruction, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, etc., and now that regime was close to getting nukes.
Trump just saved the world, you just don’t know it yet.

I’m not politically or militarily intelligent - so looking for some ppl who follow me who are (not just random unintelligent comments), to tell me how any of this is even close to successful (if that’s even the right term) if in the end the following don’t happen:
1) Regime Change - freeing the Iranian ppl from the lives of oppression they are living?
2) Elimination of all nuclear material & capabilities - freeing the world of that threat by regime?
3) Something changes with the Strait that wasn’t in place before?
Please, just ppl who are well versed in these things so I can become more intelligent!
English

@WarClandestine Which misses the key point:
Iran didn’t much care.
What they really want is American boots on the ground they can attack with cheap drones and cause casualties and media attention.
English

@JEChalmers Bring it in tight Mr Tax’n’Spend because I’ve got some advice for you.
Cut the Trumpian level of bullshit. Australians aren’t as stupid as the average American, we know you’re lying and we know you know you’re lying.
English

@QuentinDempster @PhillipAdams_1 Mr Tax’n’Spend, FlimFlam Chalmers, running inflationary policies for favoured demographics drove us into this mess full Whitlam style.

Pete Hegseth’s salary was an est. $2.3 million in 2024.
His new salary is $256K.
Jeanine Pirro made $5,000,000 in 2024.
Her new salary is $198,000.
Sean Duffy made an est. $1 Million last year.
His new salary is $253K.
They aren't in it for the money.
They are in it for love of country.

@TheAusInstitute @AmyRemeikis Why should the media be compensated?
English

A 1.4% levy on the gambling industry could compensate the media for ALL revenue lost from a potential gambling advertising ban.
Australians lose more money gambling than any other country. It's time for our governments to act.

@SkyNewsAust The point is missed
*COST* is the problem
Uni education as a profit business is foolish
And million dollar per annum salaries for ex politicians like Shorten are just part of the problem.
English

Former Labor leader Bill Shorten has defended a plan to tax corporate profits to fund universities, arguing students are carrying too much of the cost of higher education.

@Mon4Kooyong Please turn your focus on the hospital system
Incredibly inefficient, excessively costly, far too long wait times.
Fix what you know before going on about others.
English

For many individuals the NDIS has been life-changing, but it has gotten too big and costs too much because it's not well designed or regulated - and because there are too few other options for disabled Australians with less severe support needs.
We can and should improve it, transparently and fairly. However, the government hasn't yet responded to reviews of the scheme or rolled out the new Thriving Kids program. It shouldn't be threatening budget cuts until it ensures vulnerable Australians will be cared for.

@ianmiles No.
We hold out military accountable. If BRS committed war crimes he must be punished accordingly
If not, he must be exonerated
That is the standard each and every one must be held to.
English

@CollinRugg It may not be “scientific” but international women’s teams losing soccer matches to U15 boys teams would seem to be, at least, a good indicator.
English

NEW: Former women's soccer player Megan Rapinoe appears to suggest there is no scientific evidence that men are better than women at sports.
The comment came as Rapinoe raged against the IOC's decision to only let women play in women's sports.
It is worth noting that the United States women's national soccer team, which Rapinoe played on, previously got beaten by an under-15 boys team.

@DX_Alphafg @OG_Wick0 Sure.
The local school PTA needs a high profile President to get them stuff.

@SenWarren If you eliminated a mere $7bn of waste you could use the money you already have to achieve exactly the same outcome re insulin.

@allenanalysis Another Russian bot seeking to sow division in the West.
English

Fox News is floating this proposal:
Instead of Iran charging $2 million per vessel through the Strait — the US will charge a $2 million escort fee per vessel.
$9 billion a month. $100 billion a year in revenue.
Countries that join the coalition to open the Strait get the fee waived.
Let’s examine this.
The US Navy just confirmed it will not reopen the Strait.
Zero allied warships have agreed to join.
France said no. Germany said no. UK said not our war. Japan officially no. Australia no. Canada never.
$100 billion annually from escort fees that require:
A navy willing to enforce them. Allies willing to participate. Iran willing to allow it. None of those conditions currently exists.

@realMAG1775 The Strait of Hormuz was a functioning trade route
Donnie Dimwit got played by Netanyahu to go all YeeHaw Yellowstone to bring Bibi’s wet dreams to reality
Now he’s stuck as badly as Vlad the Mad is in Ukraine, but at least he hasn’t put troops as sacrifices for drones.
Yet
English

@realMAG1775 …smash the global economy and fuel supply chain
And if it results in a $2M per ship tax on transit then it’s basically a Boston Tea Party type event.
English

@realMAG1775 Maybe if Donnie bothered to consult before going all YeeHaw and bombing the shit out of people he’d get more support
This is real life not some episode of Yellowstone where violence can be used without consequences
All the Hormuz SMO has achieved is to spend billions and…

Close every damn U.S. base in Europe. If we keep one, make a bilateral deal with Germany and charge them full freight. NATO is a welfare scam. They ghosted us on the Strait of Hormuz while we carry their lazy asses. Spain banned our bombers. Italy locked bases. Britain waffled. We station 100,000 troops so they can under-spend on defense and lecture us on climate. Enough. Bring our boys home. End the freeloader alliance.
English

@BishtSaheen …by Netanyahu to smash Iran, a long term wet dream of Bibi’s
All too obvious, and his responses all too ill considered.
English

@BishtSaheen Maybe if he bothered to consult his allies before going all YeeHaw and bombing the shit out of people he would get more assistance
This is real life, not some simplistic episode of Yellowstone where violence can be imposed without consequence
Even worse, he got played…
