@Joeguzman22 @TimBrando SNC, Look at Larry Rinkers X page and follow him. He focuses on upper core players who naturally don't use their hips ( most am golfers are upper core). He'll be of great help to you. @LarryRinker

Each step along the way breaking 100 after you’ve sucked for quite a while. To break 90 does feel like a tremendous accomplishment and for me that didn’t happen until I had played in 1995. I had been playing since the spring of 1988. It took far longer to break 80, but when I did I thought I had arrived! Still, it took a long time to do it again, and I’ve gone a couple of years when I couldn’t do it. Last year I finally did after playing and hovering around 80 all summer long. Breaking 80 last Thursday on my first round of the 2026 spring and summer season is my greatest start in golf ever! Only place to go now? Is downhill. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️⛳️

A “good golfer” IMO shoots 82 or better. A 10 handicap can play with almost any group & consistently string pars together. Being able to break 90 is close but breaking 85 shows more consistency & that’s the key.

@LarryRinker @RinkersGolfTips @PGATOUR Struggling with trying to get my hips clear and change my swing away from the high core you’re describing. Larry what’s the best way to actually check what type of core I am? Am I chasing something I’ll never get too? I want that tour style fully open hips at release

If a training aid promotes achieving a “TOUR average” position, critical thinking should lead to a few questions being considered prior to committing to using the device.

@McLeanGolf You and I could assemble quite a list. My name would be on it. Sad…

Altering technique and/or movement patterns involves high levels of risk for elite performers. Career graveyards are full of misguided attempts at “better.”

@LarryRinker @PGATOUR @RinkersGolfTips This made me think of a tip I got about someone on tour who would practice 2’ putts by pushing them in the whole to develop a feel for shorter back stroke. Different situation.
