I’m feeling much more reassured about #Hantavirus after today’s sequencing data. That said, we still don’t know what we don’t know - about the virus itself or who else might eventually test positive. What’s most concerning to me right now: the political and public reactions in the media and on X, make it painfully clear that if/when we face another real COVID-scale event, we’re in serious trouble. @DrNeilStone Symptoms can appear till 6 weeks after contracting the virus. It is unclear how contagious people are during the incumbent. Still, even with low contamination levels, it can become endemic because of this dozen of people if no appropriate precautions.

This is outrageous.. Not a single person on my flight is masked up while we’re in the middle of a double pandemic (Covid + Hantavirus). I politely informed the flight attendant that this is a super spreader event. She just shrugged and walked away. I've already filed a formal complaint with the FAA and CDC. This is reckless and cannot stand. Masks save lives, the science is settled on that.
