@Muntilander @deathbybadger It is the case. Most people on here dislike hard magic systems for other reasons, like Sanderson's is disliked because he's popular so he's what most people think of when they think hard magic so he's used as a scapegoat for even stuff like litrpg stuff.

And most of the time, the discourses only focus on Sandersonesque magic system while ignoring other hard magic systems out there.

Often this is a commentary of power disparity. Cases in point:

Misaka not believing in magic has always been a 50/50 topic to me since on one hand yeah there are reasons why magic makes no sense to her, but also on the other magic is so heavily implement that it would be easier to make a place in GT if she did. She's in a weird spot rn

@AeonCrowley There's a point in NT around NT4 where you can really see Kamachi get way more experimental. Stuff like Kamisato and Elements arc are a great example of this. By comparison, GT is more character focused, especially with Transcendants who are parallels to Touma.

I think its clear with each Testament that Kamachi's writing becomes less grounded and more experimental over time. Perhaps, more chaotic? And thats from a series that started with some absolutely crazy concepts like mass-produced clones, angels destroying the world etc

@LegendLuckster @Nobodycaresdraw + just people who want to beat isagi as rivals or enemies, but they’re all still on the same side of the coin. even nagi is like that, he’s with side b, but his core is still very much that of blue lock and ego’s ideologies.
so yeah, kira's obsession feels more realistic to me.
