@LentersTim @hjluks And it’s hard for those of us who treat these patients who arrive in clinic having been told they “need” surgery. The vitriol we receive from some patients is off the charts when you tell them what they need to hear… not what they want to hear…

Pain on the outside of your shoulder is also one of the most common problems I see in my practice. Lifters get it. Swimmers get it. Pickleball players get it. People who haven't lifted their arm overhead in years get it. For decades, we called it impingement and blamed a bone spur. That led to many unnecessary bone removal surgeries. We were treating the wrong thing.

@hubermanlab Very nice episode. One missing piece: where do IR saunas fit? Do the lower temps mean mess effective HSP, less GH, and less CV benefit?

@hjluks Yup. Dogma, anecdotes, and confirmation bias are strong.

A bone spur was blamed for causing lateral shoulder pain for decades. Remarkably, it still is in small pockets... Despite no evidence. It’s strange to me that we still blame it. Docs and such accept and know that we get tendinopathy throughout our body and bone spurs are never mentioned. Yet, tendon pain in the shoulder was blamed on a bone spur? Cmon. Tomorrow's post... stay tuned.

I'm always amazed at how much loss of motion some people will tolerate or normalize before seeing us for a frozen shoulder.

@GoAngelo @mmfa Angelo - have you considered that maybe the policy of the left is the reason these right leaning shows are dominating? Also - an interesting observation is that many goals of the “right” were centrist or even left leaning a short time ago.

1. What you see here is clearest illustration why things are so messed up and why it cannot get any better until this asymmetry is addressed. Put simply: right-wing has narrative dominance. My org (@mmfa) did this study and been sounding this alarm for years. Some thoughts...

@Atul_Gawande Can we afford it? How much debt does our nation own? What is consequence of the pause? Terribly conflicted.. but in the end we need to get our own $$$ under control, no?

This is not a "pause." It is a destruction now. And here is the terrible scale of the damage this will do to America and humanity.

I ran @USAID health programs for the last 3 years. Trump’s 90 day Stop Work Order on foreign assistance does serious damage to the world and the US. Examples:🧵

@hubermanlab @HHSGov @NIH Disgusting. Some good momentum happening in DC to root out wasteful spending! Better times ahead! Keep doing what you do, Huberman - your impact is best made by continuing to educate us all.

A high V02 Max is the metric most closely linked to a longer life. But what is V02 Max? And more importantly, how do you increase it? Because most people are doing it wrong. 📕Make Sure To Bookmark✅ 🧵👇 /1

I guess there’s too many ortho surgeons around me. 5 second opinions. All worse off after very poorly indicated, or contraindicated surgery. None of us are perfect. We all have complications. But these were egregious.
