It truly wounds me when I see a word used improperly in an otherwise beautifully written book. Homophone lesson FYI:
It's 'pore over' a book, not 'pour over'. The book would be drenched.
and
'The hat complemented her face' not 'the hat complimented'. Hats don't talk.

I heard our upstairs neighbour, who is in her 70s, struggling to carry a big chair down the steps by herself, as it’s legs kept getting caught under the steps, so I ran out to help her in my nightgown and slippers. Hope I didn’t look too ridiculous 😅

@LibertyImages We only put boxes in when we moved here. It was the first time I’d ever ver seen a bluebird, too.
We put in two to start, but now we have five. Biggest problem is keeping the *^}%{ sparrows out.

@LibertyImages I'm still in awe at the whole operation. My big fear was that the pilot had been captured and executed by local yokel IRGs and the regime was never going to let us know. Being proved wrong is one thing, but how I was proven wrong....DAMN!

French Gen. Michel Yakovleff saying that establishing an austere airbase inside Iran was crazy and that U.S. officials needed to "stop snorting cocaine" is now a TERRIBLE look for the French military. The U.S. did exactly that, just outside of Isfahan, FFS.

Amazing. Lost two C-130s to save one guy who was only there because his F-15 got knocked out of the skies (which resulted in downed/damaged Blackhawk helicopters and a downed A-10. Incredulous amount of hardware lost in this fiasco and the U.S. is calling it a win somehow.
