@edfromparamore @ric_rac @rumblevideo @TheQuartering Rumble does not encourage deplatforming. If you truly believe that, then have that channel create a channel on Rumble so you can prove it. The reality is that YT is terminating and demonitizing channels, just search X for many posts, that's why you need to be on more than one.

There is no reason to mock Zach and Devin, they simply share their insight based on years of experience. All of us want live streaming to do well! Clipping is evolving and social media is adapting... A creator sharing their own clip may not have the same reach as a network of clippers sharing similar clips. As the clip networks grow, the clip posters themselves begin to automate and inflate clip views. Now companies like @liveframe are building out complete systems. Social media networks have to adapt to the large volume of clips.

The number of takes I've read about the clipping economy over the last few months would make you think there's something revolutionary happening in livestreaming and the future of discovery... but there's nothing futuristic about it. In reality, it feels much more like the natural outcome in a world pushed to consume the same homogeneous short-video content format across every app, with financial benefits in doing so. You can post the same clip on TikTok as you would on YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Twitter X, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitch Stories, or Bluesky. You don't need to change a thing; you can post it as it is. Best of all, it gives the creator some form of discovery and, in many cases, allows them to monetize once they reach a certain size. But when talking about the clipping economy, we're mostly talking about third parties... How did they get involved in it? Well, to take a step back in time, the first community-centric clip posting was Twitch clips posted to the livestreamfail subreddit... and for a long time, that was the biggest source of clip-based discovery for Twitch creators. Stepping forward, we saw the rise of community-run YouTube channels that posted clips/VODs of their favorite streamers or weekly compilations of streaming moments (and streamers often let them monetize because, again, it was a form of discovery). Then, over the last couple of years, X made posting that same content here profitable, leading to the rise of anonymous people like fearbuck or yoxics, and to a subsequent second-wave of anonymous clippers rising to prominence... And now, over the last year or so, we've seen the rise of the clipping economy, with business people running the show, dangling a financial carrot in front of armies of people operating anonymous X, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Threads, and YouTube accounts... posting dozens or hundreds of clips a day on every account, as they all chase the minimum number of views needed to get a payout (~100K is common). And the creators themselves (or, more likely, their agencies/management) are footing the bill while giving their blessing to the content wildfire because it's a form of discovery hard to find elsewhere (and as cheaply). But while everyone is cluing in to this now, it's important to know it won't last. If you want to take advantage of the clipping economy, do so before year-end... because I have a feeling just as quickly as the clipping economy has thrust the names and faces of some of the most obnoxious people into your feeds, the upcoming AI slopocalypse is going to overwhelm even the most prolific clippers and automate the entire process. So, where once an anonymous person might be able to post dozens of clips a day and earn an okay paycheck, industrious people are going to run entire automations that post hundreds of clips from hundreds of anonymous accounts daily (or dozens of clips from thousands of accounts; they'll adapt to anti-spam measures.) The sheer volume alone will likely mean that few individuals will ever see a payout. And the only way that I see this not becoming a reality is if platforms take a 'first post' approach, where only the original poster gains the financial and discovery benefits. They'll have to remove the financial incentive lest they be overwhelmed by millions of the same clip. This is already a problem on X, and Nikita Bier has started addressing it by lowering payouts for aggregators and increasing payouts to original creators. This doesn't solve the external monetization of those clips, which is why discovery will be the next thing they need to rein in. Clipping is a great marketing tool, but the clipping economy has brought it to its very obvious end state. This is not the future of marketing; it's the present. And every anon clipping account will probably fade into the background, while every streamer who developed a real community on a streaming platform (doesn't matter which one) will likely persist, but with fewer viewers as that discovery path goes away. Clips are NOT the main product; they are simply a marketing tool that feeds discovery back to the stream, where the main focus is building a sustainable, personal, long-lasting community and career.

🚫 Terminated 🔴 YouTube 👨‍⚖️ Appeal Rejected YouTube has deleted 10+ years of Bitcoin educational videos claiming they are "harmful and dangerous" The appeal was rejected, which is often the end 🪦 but their post on X received a reply from YouTube ~9 hours later. Will they reverse?
Bitcoin.com@BitcoinCom

YouTube deleted our channel for being "harmful and dangerous." Our content since 2015: #Bitcoin education. Wallet tutorials. Objective news. YouTube's content: crypto scam ads running 24/7 with zero moderation. Appeal rejected. No strikes. No explanation. Just an algorithm that can't tell a 10-year-old company from an actual scam. @TeamYouTube — can we get a human, or do we need to buy an ad first?

🚫 Banned 🟣 Twitch ⏳ 7 Days Asmongold has been hit with a week-long Twitch ban after stating he doesn't care about the opinions of "illiterate third worlders," a comment he argues doesn't violate Twitch's Terms of Service. Where will those tens of thousands of viewers head during the ban? Will they shift to Kick, where Asmongold already maintains a strong presence with solid average viewership, or to Rumble? Or will many simply sit out the week?
