My payout has dropped significantly on here and guess what? I don’t give a shit. None of these platforms owe me money for my content. This isn’t a job, it’s a hobby. If I wanted to make this a job I could have done it a long time ago by selling out and becoming fake. The amount of opportunities I’ve turned down based solely on them wanting me to clean up my language some people would think it insane. Once you start making money the motivation for your message, you’re a slave to audience capture, or whoever is cutting your checks. You’ll either self censor or even worse become a puppet. There are ways to make $ on here without becoming a shill or a grifter, but most people will take the easy paycheck instead of building a real brand. The internet would probably be a better place if nobody made money off it. It was meant to connect each other, not hustle each other.

Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.
