I swore in Shaq as a volunteer special deputy for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office posse and he proudly held up a pair of my jail’s famous pink underwear (which I forced my jail inmates to wear) before the media. Today, a new documentary on Elvis Presley is premiering in theaters called "EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert", which I have a dramatic and special interest in. Years ago, a supporter created a video montage of my accomplishments as Sheriff of Maricopa County, AZ, using my favorite song, “My Way.” It’s no secret that during my 24 years as sheriff, I always promoted Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” but since Frank’s daughter, Nancy, threatened me for playing her father’s song, I now use a rendition sung by someone I have dealt with personally and has greatly impacted my life: Elvis Presley! When I was a Las Vegas police officer in 1957, I stopped Elvis Presley and his beauty queen companion, Hannerl Melcher, for excessive speeding on Elvis’ Harley-Davidson motorcycle. I took them to the police station to book Elvis in jail but let him off with a warning for being so polite and pro-police. President Nixon later gifted Elvis a Federal Bureau of Narcotics badge (now known as the DEA where I worked for 26 years as an agent and official) for Elvis’ support of Nixon’s anti-drug initiatives around the time I was aggressively involved in assisting President Nixon at the US/Mexico border in Nixon’s 2 weeks program known as “Operation Intercept.” In 2018, President Trump posthumously gave Elvis the President Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the USA. During my encounter, I told Hannerl that she resembled my girlfriend, Ava, who was the same age, blonde, and a huge fan of Elvis. Hannerl responded by encouraging me to marry Ava. The following month, I moved to Chicago to join the Federal Bureau of Narcotics as an agent, and married Ava, which lasted 63 years until she passed away with cancer. It should be noted that during her last years, President Trump communicated with me and my wife several times personally and in public asking about Ava’s health progress. I always wanted to meet and thank Hannerl (who I hadn’t identified until 68 years after meeting her) for her nice comments and encouragement regarding my future marriage to Ava. Unfortunately, I found that Hannerl had already passed away.

My congratulations go to Chief Warrant Officer Eric Slover and his wife Amy for Eric receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor (the highest military award in the USA) for his exceptional heroism during last month's mission that captured Venezuelan narcoterrorist Nicolas Maduro! I commend President Trump and our brave servicemen for their successful mission capturing the leader of a dangerous narcoterrorist regime without the loss of American lives. Before I was elected Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, I served 26 years fighting drug peddlers for the US Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (now called the DEA). When I was a diplomatic attaché and the regional director of the DEA leading the agency in Mexico, Central and South America, I worked with foreign military and government officials to arrest and extradite international drug traffickers and terrorists. In the early 1970's, I worked on a narcoterrorist similar to Maduro- the former dictator of Panama, Manuel Noriega, when Noriega was Panama's head of Intelligence. Unfortunately, unlike Maduro, Noriega was long protected by US intelligence agencies while he trafficked drugs internationally! Crime fighting men like Eric Slover and President Trump are American heroes!🇺🇸
