Those small flags aren’t random. When you know the colors, you know what's below. Each one identifies a different type of underground utility, helping you understand what’s in your digging area before you start. Taking a moment to recognize them can help prevent damage, service outages and potential safety hazards. Before you dig, call 811 or visit tenn811.com to have lines clearly marked and identified.

The Slight Risk for severe storms has been expanded northeastward. Large hail and damaging winds remain the primary concerns. Given the environment, very large hail (up to 2 inches in diameter) is not out of the question.

Happy Thursday! 🏫🚸🚶 On your morning commute, remember to slow down & take *extra* precautions when driving in school zones. See a school bus? Always STOP when the STOP arm is out! 🚌🛑 #SchoolZoneSafety

Here's one model's simulation of how today's marginal severe weather risk (level 1/5) could play out. We are expecting another round of storm clusters to move through late this afternoon into the evening hours, featuring a primary threat of large hail and damaging winds. ⛈️

Temperatures will remain well above-normal both Thursday and Friday, with some locations approaching record high temperatures on Friday. A cold front Saturday will bring a much needed cool down to the Mid-South on Sunday.

Heads up! We do have a low-end risk for severe storms tomorrow afternoon/evening, level 1 out of 5. These will mostly be hailers - the setup is conducive for at least quarter sized hail. There is a secondary threat of damaging winds. Keep up with the latest forecast ⛈️

An upper-level disturbance will increase 🌧️&⛈️ chances late Wednesday into Thursday. A cold front this weekend will bring a second round of 🌧️&⛈️ across the Mid-South. Amounts, however, will provide little to no relief to current drought conditions.☹️ #mowx #arwx #tnwx #mswx

Summer-like heat continues across the Mid-South through Friday. High temperatures will be around 90 degrees in many areas on Friday, which is more typical for mid-June. A cold front is expected to move through on Saturday, bringing much cooler and less humid air for Sunday. 🌞

☔ Umbrella: Optional. We're looking at very light, scattered showers throughout the day. Most areas will see less than 1/10th of an inch.

A subtle increase in rain chances will begin overnight, but the best chance of seeing rainfall will be around sunrise Monday. It definitely won't be a washout, but just a heads up ☔🌧️
