To whom it may concern: Black Lotus is indeed overrated in cube It is doubly overrated in boros decks, specifically This has all been true for many many years, far before arena cube or any particular personalities Neither of those are the same as lotus being bad. Obviously.

@tommartell @CooperFrye It is not only the best card in the cube, in boros it’s the best card by multiple percent. I think when people say it’s overrated they don’t really understand equity distributions compared to the moxen or other cards.

@CooperFrye I think its universally considered either the best or second best card in the cube, so it is hard for others to have it overrated by much from there...

@AndrewCuneo Luckily for you the 17L data is completely useless for anything other than bo1 with all horrible drafters in your pod.

Very much looking forward to getting some 17lands cube data to test my belief that Path of Exile, Winds of Abandon, and Upheaval are all awful cards.

@jakeformayor Yes but daybreak is still just really bad. They mismanage the cube and the possibility of cube horribly. Their community manager is a troll, it’s just doomed. If it’s critical infrastructure I’m not sure why wotc should care at all about it?

@MackSmith79 I don't think that's fair to Daybreak, Mack. For all of the flaws with modo, it is still critical infrastructure. You can't have a mocs on Arena. They had to drop draft from the AC lol

Arena having a powered cube is a TERRIBLE idea. Vintage Cube is one of the very few stable revenue generators left on MTGO. A big participation drop in that format hurts a ton. Real monkeys paw here. But they can always port Cube content over to Arena. GL pauper/vintage/legacy.

@McWinSauce Seems to me you were kinda soft forcing jeskai. I don’t really get taking phlage over lose focus when phlage is likely bad in your balance decks.

The winning Island is my favorite. Unglued doesn't get the respect it deserves. Mirage Mountain shown here is my favorite. Snow-covered lands from Ice Age are distinguished and classy.

@OndrejStrasky He’s a cheat. It’s not like he cheated once and that’s it. He was banned and dqd multiple times. There’s countless stories beyond those things. If you are willing to cheat at that scale for that long you don’t deserve to be in any conversation about goats forever.

@MackSmith79 LSV seemed to do very well with tide playing it for what seemed like the first time on Youtube. However, we can’t all be LSV haha

@Darthdog90 The biggest tip is stop trying to go off on t3 and t4 and instead try and go off on the last turn you are alive. Your fizzle rate drastically decreases turn after turn. The best way to know when you are going to die is to understand the other decks and what they can do.

@MackSmith79 Ok sweet, I initially gave up on trying to learn high tide because I found it overwhelmingly complex, but your guide and tips here have helped a lot! Are there any more beginner tips that you would give that couldn’t fit in the guide?

@Darthdog90 A shortcut I learned is not tracking tides active but how much my lands tapped for. It’s just a small trick to make it a little faster. But yes I was using a pen and paper to track. Some parts of the combo are faster in paper like people concede to casting stream unlike modo.

@MackSmith79 Great idea thanks. Were you tracking number of tides activate and mana with pen and paper?
