@christianllamar Let the fittest and the smartest get the job - immigrant or a US citizen doesn’t matter, only merit matters. American as a capitalistic country was built that way and it’d become a 3rd world country if it changed to what you say.

President Trump, sir, respectfully, I am asking you to immediately suspend all Work Visas by your authority as the executive in light of the courts ruling on the H-1B $100k fee. As I said before, we need you to stop the Work Visas entirely because this is hurting U.S. citizen wages and income. Foreigners access to U.S. jobs is not more important than U.S. citizens! Majority of Work Visas are in Information Technology and it’s destroying U.S. citizens from getting IT jobs! U.S. citizens cant feed their families. Suspend all Work Visas! @realDonaldTrump @WhiteHouse @RapidResponse47 @SecRubio @SecMullinDHS @JDVance @DanScavino

@SenMikeLee Bro, calm down. H1Bs are the people who make America great and hire most Americans. Unless you want your kids end up washing cars (which is probably was started by an immigrant too).

An H-1B fee is now a constitutional crisis? The Constitution does not guarantee a steady supply of cheap foreign labor. 8 U.S.C. § 1182(f) lets the President restrict entry when foreign labor harms American interests. The rogue judge veto has to end. x.com/TheToddSchulte…

BREAKING News — Federal court rules the admin’s $100,000 fee on H1-Bs are unlawful, violating both the Administrative Procedures Act and the Constitution. (More below)

@curtismorrison I think it might be a good idea to mention that in the Storie and other cases.. From following Judge Ali’s decisions, he’s strict with enforcement. Unfortunately, even courts are in the dark (they still think DHS/USCIS abides by court decisions and orders in good faith).

@elonmusk American culture is not English Scotts Irish. It’s English, French, Spanish, Irish, Chinese, Italy, and 200 other cultures. You need to study some American history before you write any weird statements.

For a country to survive, there has to be a common culture. Nobody dies to defend a “multicultural economic zone”! American culture, with its English-Scotts-Irish origin, is great and worth fighting for. Some may not realize it, but that’s why people come here. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Important segment starting at 25 : 39 in Tucker’s video on who is a “Heritage American”, a now necessary term. A young Anthony Scalia, future Supreme Court justice, upholding Anglo-American law, consciously bristled at his ethnic and religious distinction from the WASPs whom foreign professors assigned a foundational status. But then he went to England and saw it and felt it;

In fact, the founding fathers such as Jefferson were pretty impressive in terms of comparative legal knowledge. You will see French and German law, Greek philosophy (Thucydidis), etc in his library at the Monticello. In my humble opinion, most of US law issues only exist because nationalistic tendencies such as what you are calling for. Not wanting to resolve a legal dilemma that also existed 700 years ago and humanity already found a perfect solution to it. Eventually, after 120 years of unnecessary delay, US law almost always catches up :)

@elonmusk why is that? I’m foreign born, I went to a top law school, and dropped the grading curve for Americans in US law subjects. I practiced at a big law firm and dropped the revenue curve for everyone else (all American firm). Ironically: I was sitting with 7 elderly American lawyers (I’m around 33) who couldn’t remember the 3rd amendment, 8th, 11th, and 19th while we were discussing related topics. So, on what basis are you claiming judges should be born here?

Miller's maternal uncle, David Glosser, made essentially this argument in a 2018 Politico op-ed: If the restrictive policies Miller has advocated (sharp cuts to legal immigration, family chain limits, refugee caps) had existed in the early 1900s, their family "would never have been allowed to come to the United States."

Biden allowed millions of illegal alien families into the country. Each illegal family costs taxpayers one million dollars (far more over the course of a lifetime). Any Democrat saying we cannot remigrate illegals with children is saying we cannot have a border, laws or a nation.

"American" legally means a U.S. citizen or national, not tied to a specific ethnicity or race—it's a civic identity shaped by diverse immigrant influences over centuries, including foods, inventions, and ideas like those you mentioned. MAGA views on immigration aren't monolithic: Trump has supported merit-based systems for high-skilled workers (e.g., H-1B), seeing economic benefits, but some supporters advocate broader restrictions due to concerns over job competition, cultural assimilation, and national sovereignty. Debates often center on balancing innovation with protecting native workers."

America is 4% of world population, but illegals can scam money from the government that is higher than 95% of Earth and more than most Americans make! America would be swamped, go bankrupt and then cease to exist at all if illegal immigration enforcement were to be defunded.
Hunter Ash@ArtemisConsort

Every time an immigrant argues for more immigration, I become more restrictionist. If letting in any means they’ll eternally lobby to let in more, we shouldn’t take the risk. I would support making immigration skepticism a criterion for immigration, if it could be enforced.

@grok Define “American” if not an immigrant who moved to pursue a dream or a high-level goal. Assimilating into the American culture and traditiona developed over the past few centuries is necessary, but there’s no one specific ethnicity or race that can be exclusively called “American.” Many of the components of the American culture and tradition were born elsehwere and came here. Most of what we eat and drink in America reflects immigration such as Chobani yogurt, Tesla’s AC electricity we use, many vaccinations, etc. The 2nd Amendment was borrowed from Britain (before they repeal it). So, what’s the big deal with the MAGA people? Are they afraid that they are not qualified enough and they’ll be replaced by highly qualified immigrants? High-level immigrants usually don’t aim for employment but for entrepreneurship, scholarship, etc. Many of then would not going to move across the globe to be just an employee. Higher pay exists in many other countries. This is not why high level immigrants move here.

@grok but Americans were and are in fact immigrants. There’s no real difference between an immigrant and an American except a temporal element (20 years ago, they were immigrants, today they are Americans) or 80 years ago their parents were immigrants from X country, but today they are all Americans. It’s not like immigrants are going to China- where people of the same ethnicity have been living there for 4000 years? The American dream is a qualified immigrant dream by definition. Also, true capitalism dictates qualifying people by merit, not where they came from. So, following the above argument, can native Americans have priority at all work spaces regardless of merit over other Americans who were immigrants?

Some MAGA supporters oppose high-skilled legal immigration (e.g., EB1A, EB2 NIW) due to fears of job displacement and wage suppression for Americans, even in tech—views echoed by figures like Rep. Greene (Fox News, 2025). Others, including Trump, support merit-based systems for economic growth (Pew, 2024). Stats on immigrant founders vary: 46% per American Immigration Council (2025), but ~20% per CIS (2025). Resistance often stems from "America First" priorities, despite examples like Musk and Tesla.
