Et en passant, le Québec est 1000% en avance sur l’Ontario avec des terrains intérieurs en brique/mortier, accessibles à coût beaucoup plus raisonnables pour les communautés.

😲 Le dôme lavallois dans lequel s'entraînaient le FC Supra et les Roses s'est effondré la nuit derrnière. Heureusement, il n'y avait personne à l'intérieur. Les deux équipes et le Complexe Multi-Sports de Laval tentent fort de trouver des solutions pour permettre aux deux équipes de reprendre l'entraînement rapidement. Les deux clubs pourraient s'entraîner à l'extérieur plus tôt que prévu. Plusieurs jeunes se retrouvent aussi sans terrain pour terminer la saison hivernale.

Le FC Supra disputera son premier match de la saison le 11 avril en Colombie-Britannique (vs Pacific FC). L'équipe reviendra ensuite à Montréal pour y disputer ses deux matchs suivants, face au champion en titre de la CPL, l'Atlético Ottawa (dimanche 19 avril) et face aux Halifax Wanderers (vendredi 24 avril). Ces deux premiers matchs à domicile seront disputés au Stade CEPSUM de l'Université de Montréal, et non à Laval. Pourquoi Montréal, et non Laval? Parce que le Stade Boréale ne sera pas disponible avant le mois de mai. Entre jouer plein de matchs sur le route et "connecter" avec la Ville de Montréal, le choix était facile. À noter que la capacité du Stade Boréale et celle du CEPSUM est sensiblement la même (5 000 sièges).

1. Loïc Kwemi devrait effectivement retrouver Rocco, Nick et son staff avec le Supra. C'est un secret de polichinelle dans le milieu du foot local québécois.
2. David Choinière, le frère de Mathieu, quittera Hamilton. Plusieurs personnes m'ont confié au cours des derniers jours que David aurait comme plan A de rejoindre le Supra. #FitNaturel

@__LFF__ What about partnerships between unis and clubs (or the league itself) When I talk about an ecosystem, that’s what I talk about.
But L1C would probably ask $$ to unis for that.
And L1C is not fully “clubs”-some are just separate entities willing to pay the 50K to play.

@__LFF__ Oh, it is theatre for sure. But the performative theatre is to demonstrate at least figuratively a certain level of support to the Canadian development ecosystem. The NSL had not done that (quite the opposite in fact) until very recently.

@__LFF__ Unsure. Thought is was mostly for some 17 years old that played a bit. Though this could certainly do it for USports.
But I don’t think they have players that play for them when university is off like the CPL. Problem is that you get the player late-ish and until end July.

I was all for DB being called up, but if this was a reason why it never happened, I get it. The fact that she is ineligible to play takes away a spot from someone who actually can. Also makes me question how intent she was on playing for Canada if this wasn’t done earlier.

No need for drafts. Just contract types that are approved by USports to maintain eligibility.

@__LFF__ Late a bit… The diff. is that USports players can’t play in the NSL until after they graduate/leave.
NSL was pretty focused on a NCAA pipeline from what I had heard (rightly so in a sense), but overtures to USports is bigger now based on Diana’s remarks before the final.

@MatB613 Seems it's built around university eligibility for the player if they continue to wish to be eligible. The NSL has figured this out without a draft and provides players more freedom so it all seems unnecessary.
