@nickhillman @HEPI_news @BBCRadio4 1. Industrial action stopped the destruction of the USS pension. 2. Lowering salaries still further impacts on our competitiveness. 3. As do cuts in pensions. 4. The political direction of travel means relaxation of visas is very unlikely.

My baby and I are facing a longer wait for discharge because of the #DoctorsStrike but I want them to win more than I want things to run smoothly today because disruption is necessary. #PayRestoration is not too much to ask. I *need* NHS workers to have decent pay and conditions!

Solidarity. Congress clearly wanted this settled and was sympathetic to UNITE’s demands. And to allow recall HE sector Congress lost to a Unite strike day. Failure to resolve the dispute leaves a big gap in policy-making and accountability.

During ACAS talks today, attended by UCU's General Secretary & President, yet again no tangible offer was made that could move us to ending our dispute. Of much greater concern is a risk of escalation after the employer suggested pausing our recognition agreement. #ReclaimUCU
