🚨 REPORT | Israel expands strikes on civilian infrastructure across southern Lebanon, targeting bridges, fuel stations, and financial lifelines The latest strikes and threats point to a three-part strategy: cutting off the south, hitting fuel stations, and targeting financial institutions tied to Hezbollah. ▪️ 1. Bridges: isolating southern Lebanon 💢 Israeli forces have begun bombing crossings over the Litani River, a key geographic boundary separating southern Lebanon from the rest of the country. Civilians were ordered to move north, with the military warning that “any movement southward may put your life at risk.” Bridges targeted include: ▪️ Al-Qinayat Bridge (Al-Qasmiya, near Tyre) struck today ▪️ Qaaqiya Bridge (inland south Lebanon) hit today ▪️ Burj Rahhal crossing (coastal Tyre district) confirmed hit ▪️ Zrariyeh Bridge (central Litani corridor) destroyed March 13 These crossings are critical civilian routes. Their destruction effectively cuts off large parts of southern Lebanon. ▪️ 2. Fuel stations: targeting energy access Israel says it struck fuel stations operated by the “Al-Amanah” company, claiming they generate millions of dollars for Hezbollah through accounts linked to Al-Qard Al-Hassan. But these stations also serve civilians across southern Lebanon, meaning the strikes directly hit access to fuel in already strained areas. Israel has framed the attacks as part of a broader effort to damage what it calls Hezbollah’s economic infrastructure by striking at “the heart of the civilian population.” ▪️ 3. Financial institutions: targeting Al-Qard Al-Hassan Israel has also explicitly cast these strikes as an attack on the financial system tied to Al-Qard Al-Hassan, a Hezbollah-linked institution that it accuses of helping fund military activity. But Al-Qard Al-Hassan also functions as a major financial lifeline for many Lebanese, especially in the south, providing loans and services in areas where access to traditional banking is limited. ▪️ Scale of attacks: Israel says it has destroyed more than 80 “infrastructure targets” over the past week as part of what it calls a “forward defense” campaign. ▪️ Legal implications The UN Human Rights Office warned March 17 that strikes on bridges, healthcare facilities, residential buildings, and other civilian objects could amount to war crimes, stressing that deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure are prohibited under international law. 🎥 Video 1: Qasmiyeh crossing (not the main bridge) Video 2: Israeli military attack on infrastructure, target undisclosed

Israel has bombed and collapsed the Qaaqiya bridge in south Lebanon, the latest in a series of strikes on infrastructure today designed to cut off south Lebanon from the rest of the country. Human rights groups have warned the destruction of these bridges and roads will be a “humanitarian disaster” for those remaining in the south.

📍Lebanon: Israel is deploying the same deadly playbook it used in 2024 in Lebanon to kill dozens of health workers and devastate healthcare services. Israel must halt attacks on healthcare workers, medical facilities and first responders. amnesty.org/en/latest/news…

What out medical team witnessed during our assessment of the Chalet Camps on the seashore of North Gaza, goes beyond a humanitarian crisis. There is no time to waste. We must act now with urgency to correct some of the conditions that make this camp unsafe, inhumane, to live in. Support: chuffed.org/project/136892… Tents are overcrowded with no clear pathways, slowing even the most critical services. Raw sewage runs between where families sleep. There is no lighting - none - leaving the camp in darkness and susceptible to the occupation’s cruelty. A 17 years old girl was shot at night by naval ships, and the delay in reaching medical care due to the lack of light left her permanently paralyzed. Families are also forced to rely on unsafe, makeshift pits for bathroom waste. Small children are at constant risk of falling into then open, crude toilets. Disease is not just a possibility here but it’s an inevitability without intervention. The Sameer Project’s medical team assessed this camp not just for documentation, but developing real and tangible solutions: proper waste systems, safe water access through repairing existing wells, and restoring basic infrastructure that protects life and dignity. We have to act. NOW. This requires your commitment and help. We are tired of seeing the suffering while large relief organizations are rendered useless, held back by red tape. Help The Sameer Project find solutions. “Over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 2023. Almost a quarter of the victims were children. Rising violence by Israeli settlers and armed forces is accompanied and fueled by impunity. Meanwhile, de facto annexation continues to accelerate as settlements expand. The International Court of Justice has ruled that the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is illegal and must cease. International law applies to everyone, everywhere. There can be no exceptions.” — @UNLazzarini Read more: ohchr.org/en/press-relea…

In Gaza, Palestinians are still living under conditions of precarity and dehumanization, even five months after the ceasefire. 🔹673 Palestinians killed in Israeli military operations since the ceasefire — near deployment lines and far away, in homes, tents, and streets. 🔹Thousands remain missing, buried under rubble or forcibly disappeared. 🔹Aid flow remains unreliable. Many essential goods still blocked. Crossings not dependably open.

As media attention shifted away, Israel tightened restrictions on aid to Gaza, and the impact on people in Gaza was immediate: “The price of a sack of flour weighing 25 kilograms (55 lbs.), for example, has climbed to 100 shekels ($32), three times higher than before the war. The price of tomatoes rose from $1.5 per kg to $4 per kg. Products such as cooking oil and tinned goods have disappeared from shelves [...] The Gaza Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that the supply of power to Gaza's hospitals, which is based on generators, is at risk of collapsing due to a shortage in spare parts and oil required for their operation” The full piece in Haaretz: haaretz.com/gaza/2026-03-1…

The Israeli occupation continues its endless violations of the ceasefire, having breached the truce more than 2,000 times since it came into effect. In addition, the Israeli occupation has not allowed sufficient amounts of aid into the Gaza Strip as agreed, continues to control 60% of the territory, and prevents the return of displaced persons. The Israeli occupation has turned the ceasefire into a cover for continuing its crimes against Palestinians, exploiting the media’s focus on the current regional war with Iran, while persisting in the extermination of Palestinians and deepening their suffering.

🚨BREAKING | Israel just bombed a British and Lebanese journalist live on air at the old Qasmiyeh Bridge in southern Lebanon. British journalist Steve Sweeney and Lebanese journalist Ali Sbeiti were reporting from the scene when the strike hit around them, leaving both injured.
