@nickmmark A few other cons for PHBs: drug interactions with things that EDs are often unaware of such as ART, long acting cabotegravir is a particular concern. Once on the floor, complicated PK and less experience can lead to oversedation. Seen bad outcomes more than once as a result

Con-argument: - BZDs are tried and true; proven benefit in large RCTs. No such data for PHB. - meta-analysis does not support reduced intubation risk or LOS - BZDs are likely better for seizures, a frequent complication of EtOH withdrawal #CHEST2024

Some alternate names for common forms of cellulitis. Bilateral cellulitis - it prefers the term venous stasis dermatitis. Toe cellulitis - likes to be called gout. 😅 @DxRxEdu
