South Africa's quest to become the continent's first nation to manufacture an anti-HIV vaccine has received a much-needed boost. The SA National Aids Council is calling on the country's drug manufacturing companies to submit generic versions of an anti-HIV jab aimed at ending Aids by 2043. @jurgensbosch It's an injection for HIV-negative people to stop them from getting HIV, so not for people who have already contracted the virus. It's to stop new infections. I don't think they will turn any HIV-negative person who wants the jab away from clinics based on their age.
