Just heard from daughter, grandson wanted to visit us this afternoon but she had to tell him we are away for a few days, he said, "What! Why did they not ask me to come along? Seems he's now outside telling their dog about it. We may well be in trouble when we return home.

As Jesus walks the Way of the Cross, we place ourselves behind him, following in his footsteps. As we walk with him, we contemplate his passion for the sake of humanity, his broken heart, and his life as a gift of love. vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

Until 2022, the United Nations had Iran sitting on its Women Equalities’ Commission. Iran was finally expelled after a 22-year-old was beaten to death for not covering her hair properly. Today, UN Women are “gravely concerned” by military strikes against Iran. Beyond parody. unwomen.org/en/news-storie…

I’ve had enough of the past week so I’ve decided with Venus conjunct Neptune it’s time for escapism and I’ve found Finian’s Rainbow on You Tube with Fred Astaire and Pet Clarke … 🌈 Choreographer is the great Hermes Pan and a charming score by ♒️ Burton Lane - and I loved his score of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. #musical #fredastaire #petulaclark #joy #dance

Keith the Apocalypse Bringer is a three-year-old Anglo-Nubian goat in a field in Devon. Keith should not be underestimated. Keith has been systematically dismantling the ecosystem since approximately 7am, when he ate a bramble. This is significant because bramble is an invasive scrub species that outcompetes wildflowers, reduces biodiversity, and creates dense monoculture thicket that nothing else can use. Keith ate it. Keith does this every day. Keith does not charge for this service. 8:15am - Keith ate a thistle. Thistles are also considered invasive scrub in managed pasture. Goldfinches eat thistle seeds, but Keith's grazing will ensure the pasture remains open enough for the ground-nesting birds that can't use dense scrub. Keith has not attended a conservation workshop. Keith arrived at this conclusion by being a goat. 9:00am - Keith dismantled a section of hedge. This was less helpful. Keith does not have a perfect record. 10:30am - Keith escaped the field. He was in the road for eleven minutes. He ate a neighbour's rose. This is not being counted in Keith's environmental impact assessment. 11:00am - Keith was returned to the field. Keith regarded the farmer with the specific expression of an animal that does not recognise the concept of property. 12:00pm - Keith ate more bramble. His digestive system: four stomachs, a rumen full of specialised microorganisms, the ability to extract nutrition from lignified plant matter that would defeat any other animal on this field, is converting scrub vegetation into milk with a fat content of approximately 4.5%. The milk will become cheese. The cheese will be sold at the farm shop. The farm shop is four miles away. The cheese food miles are: four. 3:00pm - Keith produced manure. The manure will grow the grass. The grass will grow the bramble. The bramble will be eaten by Keith. This system has no inputs. It has been running since goats were domesticated approximately ten thousand years ago. Keith is not aware he is saving the planet. Keith is thinking about whether the fence on the north side has a weak point. It does. Keith found it at 4:45pm. Keith got out again.

Trump’s personality can be incredibly frustrating. He lashes out and sometimes says crazy stuff. But the man is utterly unflappable and on another level when it comes to stress and controversy. No one in British politics could pull this off because Trump’s upbringing and background are totally unique. He has absorbed Jewish, Italian, and African-American New York characteristics and then created a persona through WWE-style theatrics and The Apprentice that makes him almost bulletproof when speaking bluntly or controversially. What he does would ruin most political careers, yet he has desensitised the American people to his abrasive, comedic style. They just accept it.

If the behaviour of Andrew M-W calls the monarchy into question what does the allegedly far more serious action of Peter Mandelson mean for the Labour Party? Mandelson suggested a US banker should “mildly threaten” the then Chancellor. Is he going to be arrested?

36 years ago this month, the last ep of #Blackadder Goes Forth screened. Most of us treasure the series as 3 unmatched comedy hours. But there was a deeper message throughout encapsulated in this moving final scene. #RemembranceDay Vid: BlackadderQtes

As another man who once worked with me declares himself saddened by my beliefs on gender and sex, I thought it might be useful to compile a list for handy reference. Which of the following do you imagine makes actors and directors who aren’t involved with the HBO reboot of Harry Potter so miserable? Is it my belief that women and girls should have their own public changing rooms and bathrooms? That women should retain female-only rape crisis centres? That men don’t belong in women’s sport? That female prisoners shouldn’t be incarcerated with violent men and male sex offenders? That women should remain a protected class in law, because they have sex-specific needs and issues? That language should reflect reality rather than ideological jargon, especially in a medical context? That women shouldn’t be harassed, persecuted or fired for refusing to pretend humans can change sex? That women should not be threatened with violence and rape when they assert their rights? That freedom of speech and belief are essential to a pluralistic democratic society? That troubled minors, especially those who are gay, autistic and trauma-experienced, should be given mental health support instead of irreversible surgeries and drug treatments on non-existent evidence of benefit? That gay people shouldn’t be pressured to include the opposite sex in their dating pools, nor should they be smeared as ‘genital fetishists’ when they don’t? That cross-dressing heterosexual male fetishists aren’t actually oppressed, but having the time of their lives piggybacking off gender identity ideology? That said ideology, and the privileged, blinkered fools pushing it because they suffer zero consequences themselves, have done more damage to the political left’s credibility than Trump and Farage could have achieved in a century? Let me have your thoughts.

Liberals spent years screeching that anyone talking about "the Deep State" was spewing fringe conspiracy theories, as if Sean Hannity invented the term. Meanwhile, JFK's top adviser -- a year after Eisenhower's 1960 warning -- warned the CIA had become "a state within a state."
Holden Culotta@Holden_Culotta

President Trump just exposed Arthur Schlesinger’s full 15-page memo calling for JFK to break up the CIA in 1961. Schlesinger called the CIA a rogue “state within a state.” “No one knows how many potential problems … are being created by CIA clandestine operations.” 🧵THREAD

Essex Police knocked on my door for a tweet deleted a year earlier. The post did not “come near” the threshold for criminal investigation. It was pure intimidation by the state. Huge thanks to @JDVance for highlighting the evil of Starmer’s censorship Britain. @EssexPoliceUK
