And give it to who? the RCMP? if recent years are any indication they're just as bad as the politicians are. Would you trust people like Lucki or Larkin to classify firearms? There doesn't appear to be much of anyone in Canada with the both the sense and the impartiality required to handle the job. Even the courts don't appear willing to give us a fair shake most of the time.

Fun fact: In defending the Firearms Act section used to prohibit these guns, in '95 Allan Rock specifically said "this government will never - no ensuing government could ever - in the reasonable use of this authority, interfere with the proper ownership and use of such firearms."
