How could @7DialsPlayhouse CEO Amanda Davey claim in October ‘21 that they RELY on workshops/membership & in Nov ‘21 announce the ‘rebrand’ & their removal? It never made moral/financial sense & has resulted in the sale of the lease. Stand with us chng.it/X6r6DSZWVj

We’ve tried for 2 yrs to collaborate with @7DialsPlayhouse. We’ve seen the current business model failing & a refusal on the part of the CEO/trustees to engage with the acting profession & @EquityUK, culminating in the sale of the lease. Let’s start talking before it’s too late.

Myopic disconnect from the accelerating improvements and lowered costs of battery storage means you can't see the obvious solutions that are just around the corner for spreading the capacity of wind and solar across the days, months and seasons.

This is exactly what I feared. The Actors Centre, a building bought and paid for by actors, to be a place of ongoing training, has now been put in real jeopardy by a board of amateurs, with no mandate other than the one they gave themselves when they hijacked the charity. Shame!

It appears that the money from lease sale would be used to leaseback the building to the @7DialsPlayhouse, cover substantial outstanding debt & maintain their business model for the foreseeable future. A model that has removed training/actors & risks the future of Tower St.
