Trade idea from @BleacherReport... HEAT GET: Giannis Antetokounmpo BUCKS GET: Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jovic, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, 2030 1st-round pick, 2032 1st-round pick (top 3 protected)

@LegendOfWinning Agree. Teams can usually fashion together a great defense even with weak links. Esp easier to hide small men on D. So for me, Jokic's defense is a much bigger problem than Shai's (and Shai is a totally functional defender on a great defensive team) bec we need 5s to rim protect.

I hate this argument so much… Not making an All-Defensive team does not mean that defense isn’t considered when determining how valuable a player is. It’s just that most players defense isn’t good enough to make up the offensive gap but Wemby, just like Giannis, is the exception

@zakfilm I guess but one film is terrible (Magnolia) and one is at best perplexing so... I agree, at one time, he was regularly cast in roles that require some acting. But that is long gone, he's basically a wind up action toy now.

People are too quick to forget that Tom Cruise is actually a great actor. In 1999, Magnolia and Eyes Wide Shut came out which displayed his tremendous range and vulnerability to the craft. Even his audacity with such unusual detail on the absurd. Both performances are some of the finest acting seen among PTA and Kubrick films. He made these roles his own.

@LegendOfWinning Well, the last Bontemps straw poll says it's not that close, 80 first place votes for Kon, 20 for Flagg. These are the same group who votes on the award, so I see no way Flagg ends up winning.

Kon has been consistent and available. His floor is so high that he is already a legit elite offensive weapon. But Cooper’s ceiling is far greater and shows flashes of already being a top 20 player, like last nights 51 points I’m still leaning towards Kon but this has been a great ROTY race
Kalshi Hoops@KalshiHoops

Rookie of the Year remains a VERY close race on Kalshi: 70% — Kon Knueppel 29% — Cooper Flagg What’s the greatest rookie season of the past decade?

@Betsycashmoney In a sane world, LaVine would not opt in on the $49 million and the Kings would sign him to a more tradeable contract, say 3 years, 105 mil, with a team option on the 3rd year. Not sure ZL would take that, but it's a very tradeable contract.

@MikeJBackus Sure, but that's not terribly common. Typically (although not ALWAYS) the buy out is equal to the amount of his new deal-- and the new contract is usually in the ~$2-6M range It usually depends how badly the player wants out

@MavsMuse Just wanted to add, I read BR's Kon page wrong, his TS is a truly amazing .644 (not .595 as I said), that's crazy for a rookie.

@MavsMuse Kon is shooting 43 percent from 3, Flagg 29. Kon's TS is .595, Flagg's is .550, well below league average. These numbers are not close. The award is not who would you rather have going forward, it's who had the better season. No way to figure that as anyone but Kon.

Cooper Flagg just made 6 three-pointers on 9 attempts. 67% from deep enroute to 51 points tonight. Kon Knueppel, the ROTY favorite due to his shooting efficiency, has NEVER had a more efficient game with 6+ threes. Wild.

@townbrad Kon's BPM is 3.3, Flagg's is 1.3, his TS is almost 100 points better than Flagg and Flagg has on the whole been a disappointment as a defender, no surprise for a 19 year old rookie, but we're comparing seasons.

@THEEJoeMess @thenba_vault @PlayoffSports_ Bigs simply can affect a defense in a way guards can not, especially in today's game where it's relatively easy to switch off an elite defender. Rim protectors are more important today than they've ever been because of the space.

@Betsycashmoney @NaGOAToroszn2 @leviteight @bqspeaks Pretty much what I said, though I dropped him to a solid #3 on a good team. I guess you have a Lavine thing; I'm not against it, I'd like to see him on a good team that could hide him on defense (can he be a good defender? He's athletic enough, so is it an effor thing?)

@MikeJBackus @NaGOAToroszn2 @leviteight @bqspeaks But WHY ON EARTH would any sane person expect him to be a #1 option on a championship team? 😂😂😂 You are literally proving my point: He's played in such terrible constructs, people have no clue what he's even good at! On a good & functional team, he'd be playing a lot offball

Giannis is not playing because his team is tanking… Tatum is wide open but he passes the ball because he is stat padding to get a triple double. What happened to the game I love? 🤦🏻‍♂️ (@BrickCenter_)

@Betsycashmoney @NaGOAToroszn2 @leviteight @bqspeaks I do agree with this. If you expect him to be #1 or even 2 on a championship level team, he's not that. But he's a guy who can get tough baskets and create, which is important in the playoffs, and you could see him winning a couple of games on his own on a title run.

@NaGOAToroszn2 @leviteight @bqspeaks What's your question? There's not enough characters to refute all of his claim, but the hate Zach gets from casual fans is absurd. On a more palatable contract, his elite shooting/efficient scoring would be incredibly valuable for a good team.

@Hero_OfThe_Day Love it when idiot twitter yahoos claim that the NBA media voting in Bontemps poll is corrupt. Corrupt how? These guys watch a lot of ball and they take their vote seriously. Laker media was involved in this vote and Luka didn't get a single first place vote.

No matter the circumstances, public or private, we stand by our guy. Luka Doncic just had a historic season that has gone under appreciated by the media. No other player has ever averaged 33/8/8, he’s done it twice. He had the most ‘Player of the Week’ and ‘Player of the Month’ awards. Fans gave him the most votes for the All Star game, he was #1 in jersey sales, had the most views on social media, and every online poll taken this year, fans overwhelmingly voted him as the MVP. Yet despite all of that, they were about to rob him of yet another MVP. In the latest ESPN MVP straw poll that was taken before the OKC game last night, he placed 4th, and two voters didn’t even have him in their Top 5. Nobody had this Lakers roster doing this well at the start of the season, yet he carried them to 3rd place, and that’s with Austin Reaves missing 25+ games and LeBron James missing 20+ games. Of all the MVP candidates, his team had the worst winning percentage without him. Also, despite the media telling you not to believe your own eyes, we all know that he played great defense this season. All of the data reflects that. Now sadly, but somewhat poetically his season ends due to injury. He ran the race until the wheels fell off, as we all knew he would. He left his sweat, his tears, and his blood on the basketball court. So no, he won’t win the corrupt media’s MVP award that the fans no longer believe to be legitimate, but we all know the truth. He is the MVP. Will the Lakers hold it together long enough until he gets back?? Maybe, maybe not, who knows. Whatever happens though, we will be there supporting him for the next chapter. Through thick and thin. #Club77

@LukaDoncicStanD Yeah, you have to wonder, does he really believe this and if so, why? Or, is he creating conflict as a way to force his way out of Milwaukee and not look like the bad guy (which let's be real, he still will be the bad guy for Bucks fans if he asks out, no matter the context)

@joelvmoran Pierce WAS the best player on a championship team and outplayed Kobe in the finals, but I also think people don't give Wade enough credit for being THE man (Shaq was on the back end of things by then) in his third year on a championship team.
