@OfficialDomNBA It's ludicrous to make any LeBron is the greatest defender argument, you could come up with a second list of better defenders as long as this one. But the key point really is Lebron has always been a great situational defender, he holds up to switches and he doesn't get hunted.

@Finishurbkfst23 Love it when some random twitter yahoo claims another twitter yahoo (me) doesn't know ball as a way of dismissing what he writes. Good job yahoo, keep on trolling.

@MikeJBackus "BPM" 🤣 Comparing fg% without proper context just shows you dont know ball. They had two totally different shot diets. And teams left magic wide open on his jumpers.

@AJRazim @Shooting_TheGap This seems a key point to me; Klay still has value in the league. He shot nearly 40 percent from 3 last year on 8 attempts per game, he can still guard, mostly 4s it's true, but he's not a traffic cone. A valuable BU piece so why should the Mavs not try to get something for him.

From my POV, Mavericks are operating in a bad faith here not letting Klay go as his contract is about to expire after this season. He came to Dallas under a previous regime to compete, only for Nico and crew to trade Luka and be irrelevant for two years straight. Klay is at the end of his career and Mavs have completely wasted it. Let him go, you have more players on the roster than you are allowed to carry into the season. And for the trade part - nobody is trading for that 17M from the teams that want to compete for anything.

Breaking : The latest buzz around Klay Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks , is that the Mavericks are not going to buy out Klay and are willing to trade the veteran guard for good value ; the Miami Heat are the biggest aggressors, but sources say the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics are teams that are picking up momentum in trade pursuits for Thompson , per Sources

@patelsahil2002 Let's look at it another way. In 01/02, Kobe's .544 TS ranked 51st, his PER of 23.2 was 8th, his 4.6 BPM was 13th and his .3 DBPM was 67th. Not sure this adds up to the best basketball player ever.

@SamQuinnCBS All true, and I'm not even a Nuggets or a Bucks fan, but I have a lot of the same feeling about this Nuggets team as I did about later Bucks, it's just deeply sad how impossible it seems to be to get enough help for one of the great players of all time (be it Jokic or Giannis)

The similarities are obviously getting more noticeable. I do think the big underrated difference is that Khris Middleton aged out and Jamal Murray hasn't. Jokic at least still has his co-star. So much of what went wrong for Giannis hinged on Middleton no longer being Middleton.

@geemultani24 So you're taking seriously the guy who is Mr Laker talking about a legend who died tragically; what exactly did you expect him to say? You think he's being honest about the best Laker in this context? Get serious.

@laking2224 So the 3 MVPs to Kobe's one means nothing. Or the fact that he was THE central Laker in their first championship and in the 4th and 5th. Or the fact that advanced stats love Magic and are ho hum about Kobe. It's hardly just one thing that makes Magic the better player.

@strombroni @brunsonsburner3 Completely not true, if you were following the Wizards at that time, you understood, even with his balky knee and his age, he was still the best on ball defender the Wizards had. To claim otherwise is to be a troll. Dude played 142 games in 2 seasons.

Michael Jordan’s wizards tenure was derailed by injuries people are so disingenuous when it comes to his time there The Wizards were 26-21 and tied for the 5th seed and Jordan was averaging 25.1-6.2-5.3ast before the injury Then they finished the year 11-24 And the next year His knee was cooked and still dropped 20 a night

@Jacobtheclipper People forget that Rodman did a good job on Orlando era Shaq just by being a constant pest and staying close, it always felt like he was in Shaq's head a bit. But yeah, Laker era Shaq was unguardable.

@KitWolkenflitzr @NateDuncanNBA Kobe's year 16 season, his BPM was 3.3 which is solid, but he was statistically a negative defender and had a .527 TS. His next season was actually better than his year 16 season. But if you look at ages, Duncan is right. his age 35, 36, 37 seasons, Kobe was terrible.

@NateDuncanNBA That is 🧢 Currys last season was his 16th... Kobe was still elite in Year 16. He was not only 4th inMVP race, next to the fact he played 88% of the games, he was All-NBA 1st Team and also on All-DEF 2nd Team. And he scored 28PPG, 2nd most (behind Durant)

@PopcornPost_ You realize someone has been remaking films since the silent era; none of them are an insult to the original, a few are better than the original, most are not, but this "insult to a film" bullshit is just that, nonsense.

@Sasha_Screens High Hopes and Life is Sweet are the two best Leigh films for me; Naked is excellent but so caustic, I don't care to revisit it. Secrets and Lies is fine but not up to the best of his films. Toss in Happy Go Lucky.

@BeatinTheBookie I have zero inside knowledge, but hard to buy this if you ponder the numbers. LIV has lost 1.4 billion since it began, in 2024, just the UK branch of LIV lost 560 million. The Saudi money propped them up and without that, hard to see anyone dropping more money into a hole.

@btrnobody @jgd0634 I still rate Magic higher all time than Steph, but the pure PG is largely a thing of the past. You have to recalibrate your definitions; Steph slots into the PG position, he largely guards PG. Yes, he plays off ball a lot (your point), but the offense is organized around him.

@jgd0634 Curry is not really a point guard. He is a shooting guard playing that position. Magic was a point guard.

@jgd0634 The modern game celebrates efficiency and Kobe was not efficient. I'd argue KD, LeBron, Harden, Steph, Kawhi were all better scorers than Kobe. Kobe's career BPM/TS are 4.6/55; just look at Durant's. 6.3/62. Durant's career BPM would've been Kobe's 3rd best BPM season.

@SamQuinnCBS Trading Steph seems a non-starter, for one, just on matching salary, you're gutting your team. Plus the Warriors are trading him to get assets but what team is giving up real assets to pay Steph $62 million at the age of 38.

In the lottery reform era being in the middle is fine. The best basketball outcome for them would be Steph asking for a trade. But there's no indication that he'd do that, and you cannot trade Stephen Curry without his blessing.

@SamQuinnCBS They shouldn’t have resigned green and should be shopping curry. There’s no point in being in the middle like they are now

@UsedGolfFacts @eamonlynch @BrandelChamblee So your point is, LIV has not been an utter failure? It has five players anyone cares about, it's a league where everyone has been paid so there's zero drama or really achievement in winning one of their super limited field events. And you conclude this because of a rumor?
