Certainly a lot of 00s emo — or what got called emo, scene, MySpace emo, w/e — was quite jarring misogynistic, but another weird thing is how narcissistic it was? So much Brand New, P!ATD, FFTL lyrics were “I am so clever, I am so handsome, I am so incredibly talented”. Quite odd
