Hey Medea @medeabenjamin, this is what your friends in the Cuban regime do: they jail 16-year-old boys like Jonathan Muir Burgos for the “crime” of demanding freedom. While you repeat their propaganda, children are being imprisoned, isolated, and abused for daring to speak out.
Maybe instead of defending dictators on social media, you should use your secure line to Havana and demand they release Jonathan. Every time you whitewash this tyranny, you make yourself complicit in its crimes.

You can’t claim to “help” Cubans while supporting policies that make their lives harder.

Ayer, en Florida, hablaba con un hombre de unos 55 años, con acento cubano, mientras mirábamos un partido de pickleball.
Le pregunté si era cubano y me respondió que había nacido en EE. UU., pero que sus padres eran cubanos.
Le pregunté si estaba de acuerdo con Trump por el tema con Cuba. Me respondió que no podía estar más de acuerdo y que soñaba con que Cuba se liberara de las cadenas del comunismo que han cargado por más de 60 años.
Cuando uno habla con alguien que ha vivido de cerca el comunismo, que lo ha sufrido en carne propia, casi siempre se encuentra con fervientes detractores de ese sistema.
Quienes lo defienden suelen ser pseudo-intelectuales o jóvenes a quienes les han lavado el cerebro, incapaces de cuestionar los hechos o analizar la historia.
En síntesis, quienes defienden el comunismo jamás han puesto un pie en Cuba ni han sufrido sus consecuencias; lo defienden desde la comodidad de países capitalistas, haciendo publicaciones desde el último modelo de iPhone.
