Exactly. Goata claims an athlete and then when injuries inevitably occur, the excuse is they were no longer goata when they sustained the injury. Applying their methods when appropriate is fine. Claiming there is some secret formula for injury prevention written in the stars is not.

@amzzznation @7Hundred77 It is simply the shapes and patterns you are putting yourself into, WOATA = externally rotated feet and linear training vs GOATA = straight feet or slightly pigeon toed feet and "rotary" or "spiral" training.

@amzzznation @7Hundred77 If we know the pattern of ACL tear, wouldn't the opposite pattern prevent ACL tears? And how do we get the body to subconsciously behave that way?

@amzzznation @7Hundred77 Why are GOATA movers not being trained in accordance to how they naturally move? Does WOATA training deteriorate their natural movement? Does a GOATA mover who gravitates toward more WOATA patterns become more susceptible to non-contact injuries?

@MovementObserve @7Hundred77 If you can’t explain why some “goata” movers are plagued by injuries and some “woata” movers are iron men, then what are we supposed to do with this information?

@amzzznation @7Hundred77 There are literally great movers at all levels of sports and all ages. There are pre-teens who move better than LeBron. You're so clueless on movement. It has nothing to do with how good someone is at their sport.

@MovementObserve Is there a basic article I could use as an intro to Woata vs Goats movement?

You’re right that I know very little about goata. I’m not familiar with their made up terms like “corners.” But that doesn’t mean I can’t critique the claims. If we’re going to dismiss the greatest mover in NBA history as an outlier, then as a trainer, how do we know if the trainee is an outlier or not?

@MikeJensonIII @MovementObserve No. I’m not making a claim, just disputing yours. You can’t look for evidence to support your claim, and dismiss everything that challenges it as outliers. I can find plenty of examples of elite athletes with duck feet, and plenty of “goata” movers with non contact injuries.

I wouldn’t argue that the methods could work for you or others. The issue is saying their patterns are optimal for everyone. Odell was a textbook goata mover and could not stay healthy. Lebron is a woata mover and has the greatest longevity in NBA history. Maybe their box is too small.
