Why this needs funding is beyond me. A local school board laid off 50 Educational Assistants this week, because there isn’t enough funding. Yes the funding was asked through Jordan’s Principle but if there was enough Provincial funding in Education then this wouldn’t be an issue.

When the mob who are going after the LGBTQ community, including drag performers and trans people, use the rallying cry "protect the children" they're not actually trying to protect children. They're taking away the focus on the real criminals and pedophiles like the ones just arrested. They're watering down the criminal terms that refer to this despicable behaviour. The real agenda is to erase the LGBTQ community from visibility. Because queerness and visibility makes them uncomfortable. Drag story time has been going on for a decade with no fanfare until recent attempts to portray it as evil and immoral. Pride celebrations have been going on for decades. The abundance of Pride flags in public spaces is largely the result of allies joining in to celebrate Pride and inclusion. Now, all of a sudden it's too much, too colorful, and too in their face. They want to gatekeep the amount of skin that is shown in public when kids can see even more skin at public beaches, swimming pools, and online from all genders. Too bad. Please suck it up princesses. It would be such a pity if your children and grandchildren grew up to being loving and accepting because they were exposed to diversity through seeing representation of the LGBTQ community in public spaces.

It is disgusting that someone is so delusional because of the lack of critical thinking skills. Empathy, inclusion & acceptance are values taught in schools not to “indoctrinate” as they now claim educators do but to ensure this generation is kind and able to respect each other.

Do they consider them to also “be in control” of getting sick, even when it is something developed in utero by a fluke or out of their control? Canadian healthcare is public not private no matter what.

As the UCP has a mindset that people can be in control of getting cancer and it is essentially “their fault when it gets to stage 4,” where do they stand on paediatric patients? Do they deserve hospitals that ensure they are healthy to be defunded and therefore privatized?

Today was (hopefully) my son’s last surgery for his hydronephrosis. It feels like a weight lifted off our shoulders. We are blessed to live in Canada where it is a right to have access to healthcare no matter the circumstances, patient background or insurance.
