@DustinRolstad @FeelsGuy2003 I also have this thing called memory. I remember Gen X and Gen Y, and I remember the cutoff being somewhere around the mid 70's. That entire generation doesn't exist anymore, and now I'm Gen X or a boomer, depending on whether someone likes me or not.

That's an assumption that you've apparently made, but that has never been what the word means. It has always referred to people who entered adulthood around the turn of the millennium. The term started becoming prominent when I was in college.
