Too simplistic a framing, @RichardvReeves. As your colleague & Nobel Laureate George Aklerof observed, it's the whole institution of marriage--with its rituals, norms, and roles + the actual relationship itself--that continues to play a transformative role in the lives of men.

It's also heavily focused on college-educated women (or women in college), who are still more likely to marry (later, but still) What we need is more messaging aimed at helping young men become more marriageable. The problem is...no one knows how to do it thedispatch.com/article/marria…

The University of Florida was recently informed by the Florida Federation of College Republicans (FFCR) that it has disbanded the local chapter of College Republicans (the Local CR). This request is based on the FFCR’s findings that some Local CR members engaged in a pattern of conduct that violated its rules and values, including a recent antisemitic gesture. The FFCR also requested that the university deactivate the Local CR as a registered student organization while it looks to reorganize and pursue reinstatement under new student leadership. The University of Florida has emphatically supported its Jewish community and remains committed to preventing and addressing antisemitism and other forms of discrimination and harassment that are threatening and disruptive to our students and to the teaching, research and expressive activities of the campus community. The university also supports the rights of organizations, such as the FFCR, to take decisive action in addressing conduct that is antithetical to its principles. In compliance with its policies, the University of Florida is in the process of deactivating the Local CR as a registered student organization. When the FFCR is ready, the university will also assist it with reactivating the Local CR under new student leadership.

You could literally just get a PhD from Sorbonne for free within 3 years, get €3k a month from the government to stay unemployed, snag this underpriced apartment overlooking the Eiffel tower to host soirees with your broke artsy hot friends, then slide into the DMs of that runway model you met at La Perle, take her on a date to the Seine with €4.50 wine, fall in love, have the worst breakup of your life, shave your head and start DJing afro house from the said apartment but you will not.
