Since December 21, 1974 (the day I was born), the United States military has conducted numerous operations and interventions worldwide. Major actions have evolved from Cold War-era interventions to large-scale conflicts and counterterrorism operations in the Middle East and elsewhere. Cold War Interventions (Late 1970s - 1980s) Mayaguez Incident (1975): U.S. Marines and Navy forces rescued the U.S. merchant ship Mayaguez after it was seized by Cambodian government forces. Operation Eagle Claw (1980): A mission to rescue American hostages in Tehran, Iran, failed at a desert staging area when a helicopter collided with a transport plane, killing eight U.S. servicemen. Lebanon (1982-1984): U.S. Marines were deployed as part of a multinational peacekeeping force during the Lebanese Civil War. A truck bomb attack on the Marine headquarters in Beirut killed 241 servicemen in October 1983, leading to a U.S. withdrawal in 1984. Operation Urgent Fury (1983): U.S. forces invaded Grenada to overthrow its Marxist government and evacuate American medical students. Operation El Dorado Canyon (1986): U.S. warplanes conducted bombing strikes against targets in Libya in retaliation for Libyan involvement in international terrorism, specifically the bombing of a West Berlin disco. Operation Just Cause (1989): The U.S. launched a large-scale invasion of Panama to depose dictator Manuel Noriega and end drug trafficking. Post-Cold War and the Balkans (1990s) Persian Gulf War (1990-1991): After Iraq invaded Kuwait, the U.S. led a 35-nation coalition in Operation Desert Shield (troop buildup) and Operation Desert Storm (combat phase) to expel Iraqi forces and liberate Kuwait. Somalia (1992-1994): U.S. forces participated in humanitarian aid and peacekeeping efforts (Operation Provide Promise and Operation Gothic Serpent). The Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993 resulted in significant U.S. casualties and a subsequent withdrawal. Bosnia and Herzegovina (1990s): The U.S. led NATO air campaigns (Operation Deliberate Force in 1995) to stop ethnic cleansing and attacks on UN safe areas, which eventually led to the Dayton Accords peace agreement. Kosovo (1999): The U.S. and NATO conducted an air war (Operation Allied Force) against Serbia to end ethnic cleansing of Kosovar Albanians and force Serbian forces to withdraw from Kosovo. The Global War on Terror and Beyond (2000s - Present) War in Afghanistan (2001-2021): Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, the U.S. invaded Afghanistan to dismantle Al-Qaeda and overthrow the Taliban regime. U.S. operations included Operation Enduring Freedom and the subsequent Operation Freedom's Sentinel. Iraq War (2003-2011): The U.S. led an invasion of Iraq to depose Saddam Hussein. The mission evolved into counterinsurgency operations (Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn). Operation Inherent Resolve (2014-Present): An ongoing military intervention by the U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria. Somalia (Ongoing): The U.S. continues targeted counterterrorism operations, including numerous drone strikes against the Al-Shabaab and Islamic State groups. Venezuela (Ongoing): TBD Anyone else noticing any patterns?

Tucker likes to have friendly conversations with bad people. When he realizes that he’s talking to Iranian intelligence officials that we already collect on, he pretends to be a victim of “spying.” He’s an idiot, and he thinks you’re an idiot too. You always need a warrant to “wire tap” any American citizen. Full stop. But if you’re communicating with a criminal and that criminal’s phone is tapped (because a judge authorized it), then your conversation is now part of that investigation. If the police also want to tap *your* phone, they would need a warrant. FISA is no different. Tucker knows all this but his favorite grift is to play the victim. I’m surprised he hasn’t blamed the Jews yet. Give it time.

My phone is blowing up today to an unusual degree with texts from people alerting me to various legislative actions being taken at the local and federal levels to silence criticism of Israel and our relationship to it. All over the country. What is going on

Asked by a Russian outlet whether Israel had access to Russian traffic cameras, IDF spokesperson Anna Ukolova declined to answer directly but said, “no one who wishes us harm will be left aside” She added, ominously, “I hope Moscow does not wish Israel ill right now"

Israeli army spokeswoman threatens 'elimination' for Russian leaders who 'wish Israel ill' The threat came after Russian media warned traffic cameras in Moscow were vulnerable to the same exploits that Israel reportedly used to target Iranian leadership thegrayzone.com/2026/03/18/idf…

The Wall St Journal editorial page is amazing. It's like opening a time portal to the mid-2000s. In the last few days alone, they've run opeds by John Bolton and Karl Rove about the virtues of regime change.

The war on Iran is a school shooting raised to the level of official US foreign policy. No pretense of a rational goal. Just murdering children for lulz and then committing suicide in hopes of going to Hell. Pete Hegseth is the same person as Dylan Klebold, just on a bigger stage

The Israeli plan is to draw US troops into the war by waiting for us to clear the Strait of Hormuz. We would lose hundreds of Marines. Possibly thousands. Then they will have Trump pot committed. It's all so predictable.

NEW: Benjamin Netanyahu says airstrikes alone are not enough to create regime change in Iran and that a "ground component" will now be necessary.
